I have the F-Body brake kit up front.I cannot rememebr which wheels clear them besides the Torque stars?.I am planning on running MT Et's or Hoosier QTP's.I have read that it is not that safe to do so.Wondering what wheels you guys recommend to put them on?I am assuming i should stay with a 16 inch wheel.I also have the GMPP Koni suspension not sure if that will be a clearance issue. Also for the Hoosiers do i need to use a tube?

I need to do more research myself, I plan on watching this thread. I plan on running Hoosier QTP Slicks on a set of Torque Stars myself (Might as well, hell I have 2 set of 4 Polished Torque Stars laying around!)

I had sported a set of Hoosier QTP's, and no you do not need tubes for them.

They were mounted on the pre-gen style rims that were wider than the torque stars. Still 16" and yes, they clear F-body brakes.

Wider rim...more of a contact patch...greater traction...better 60 foots ya cant go wrong.

Ebay or local Hubcap Annie's (or any other hubcap chain like that) might have them. The ones that Farns has look like the Bonneville style of honeycomb. I always thought the GP style of Honeycomb could not be used with FBody upgraded brakes?

The rims I was using were 16x8 GRAND PRIX rims form the 1996 and earlier Grand Prixs that used them.

You can search for them on Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market and can sometimes call and get them for around $35.00 a rim shipped to your door if you ask around. (dont be picky on color but be sure to ask them to for sure check that they are indeed 16x8 or they wont work. Just tell them to read the measurement on the inside of the rim, thats casted right into the aluminum.

They came in silver, black with a polished lip, and gold with a polished lip.

These look like, but are NOT the 1997+ cross lace rims. Those you for sure cannot run with F-body brakes as stated above. Plus, those rimes are a lot narrower.

Sorry it took so long, I had the tire size written down for a few days, just kept forgetting to stop in and post it.

26x9.5x16 is the size of Hoosiers QTP's I was running.

Bump from the dead. Is it dangerous to put the hoosiers on the Torque Stars? In fear of the bead rolling off the rim?Considering its a 9.5 inch tire on a 6.5 inch wheel.

GR8 did it... but as with all things, if YOU do it and it fails and something happens DO NOT come here griping because someone said 3+ years ago that it would work. Also keep in mind GR8 was running the 9.5s on a 8" wide older style rim (see post #8), Street wolf was probably running a narrower QTP, but hes not here anymore so you can't really know for sure unless someone thats still here remembers.

They are mounted, they are tracked, but don't try and AutoX them, the bead may break, but low psi#'s in a straight line would prolly holdup... again no responsibility, kind of like at the track... you do it... your responsible for the out come
