I know that this is probably a stupid question and a big shot in the dark, but I seen a Grand Prix on here a few days ago with Dodge Charger rims on it. The GP was a four door and dark grey or like a smoked pewter color. Im not sure if it was a GTP or GT. It was parked on the street in front of a house. The rims were a five spoke or a five double spoke maybe an R/T rim? Does anyone know which car/member Im talking about?

Like I said its probably a shot in the dark but I figured it is worth a shot. I just liked the way it looked. I already tried searching for the thread with no luck. I was just wondering if anyone knew which car/thread I was talking about and if they could give me a link to it.

    Thanks.

I'm on the fence on those. Maybe because Dodges are common around my area.

You want input from Buickman? I know him. Actually the car is heading to CT this coming week for a trans swap. (not related to the wheels)
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

That would be me. Here is a copy and paste of my original post to help answer some questions you might have. If you have any more questions feel free to ask.

So I got the bright idea that I wanted 18 inch rims, but I wanted them cheap. So what I did is I looked to see what other sporty car came with 18's from factory and had the same lug pattern of 115mmx5
That brought me to the Dodge charger R/T. I signed up on their forum and stalked a deal. I saw these were up for sale and were about a 1 hour driving distance from me so I bit.

The problem was that the tire on these rims was 245/55/18 which I test fitted but the tire was wayyy too tall. I passed on the rims because the tires where practically new and did not want to pay for new tires that I would not be able to use. One week went by and they still weren't sold, so I called up the guy and he claimed that no one was interested except me and he wanted to get rid of them. So I lowered my price offer because I could not use the tires and he took the offer!
I drove out again and picked them up. I got some used, but meaty 245/45/18 tires for $160. Had them mounted and was very happy, but too tired to take the car out for a test spin.

The next day I went for a drive and noticed that the rear wheel were rubbing on the fender! :? :?
I was kind of upset, but I could hear the scraping sound everytime I hit a bump on the road and on the highway it was worse!
I looked at the clearance and I saw that I needed my fenders rolled for my tires to clear when the suspension bottoms out which happens A LOT in NYC!
So I looked and online and rolling fenders looked expensive and scary. I researched until I ran into this link.
    How-To: Roll Fenders for $15 - SRT Forums - SRT4, SRT6, SRT8, SRT10 & Dodge Forum
So tonight I gave it a shot on the rear fenders and it came out beautifully. No cracks on the paint!!! :Thumbs
Took the car for a test spin and not scrapping! :Thumbs To make sure I hit a speed bump at 20mph to bottom out the car and still no tire contact with the fender! :Thumbs

Good Point Bill, I am on it!

Here are some more pictures of the car at slight angles.
I like that the tires stick out a little more, but are still under the fender flares.

I really like the way you car looks and sits buickman104. Is your car stock ride hieght or has the suspension been lowered/altered at all? Your car is very clean. I have always loved that color. I think Im going be looking for a set of Charger rims. Preferably R/T rims. But I would settle for a set of the 18" five spoke rims on the nicer v6 chargers. I would never had guessed that charger rims would fit a Grand prix. Not only do they fit, but they look really good. I showed my wife the pic of your car and she asked if we could do that to her car (its actually her car, Im just driving to work until we can get another car since our cavalier took a dump on us with 210,000 miles on it). Im hoping to find a nice Monte Carlo (my wife's favorite car) or a nice four door like a Bonneville for her to drive so I can have the GP he he he. Thank you for posting more pics of your car.
Your car is one of my favorite GP's I have seen. Its not too flashy but it still makes you look.

As for my suspension it's kind of a joke. I've changed the control arms tie rods and front sway bar. The shocks and springs are stock. The rear shocks are blown because the previous owner got the bright idea to put junk yard struts on the car. Also for the Ram center center caps on eBay there is a seller selling blank chrome centercaps for these rims for $10 each.

As for the rims themselves I would suggest registering in a charger forum and stalking their for sale section. I got these rims dirt cheap! I've seen the whole set of these rims sell for as low as $200 and the price I paid for these wasn't that far off! LOL

Don't foget thogh that if you get these rims you will have to roll the rear fenders! I did it myself in under 2 hours and it came out great as long as you have a good heat gun and lots of patience.

    Thanks for the pointers.

And btw, how can I tell if the rear shocks are blown? The rear of our car sags. It doest sit like other GP's that I have seen. Are the suspension parts different from SE/GT GP's? I was told that the suspension was different on the GTP's.

I can tell the rear shocks are blown because the car pogos like crazy when I hit a dip on the highway. Also when I have 2 or three people in the back the suspension bottoms out at low speeds when I hit bumps.
