Looking at a pair of nitto 245/40/18 nto1's that I can get for a really good deal. I know they are a road course racing tire, but I hear they hook up better than the 555R from a dig.

Anyone ever ran these tires at the track? I've been hearing nothing but good about them, but I'm not sure how good they will work with FWD. Thanks

They will hook better then street tires.

but no low profile tires whos going to hook like a 15" or 16" slick.
You need the tires the flex so they can grip better.

A 40 series tire is not going to flex let alone one with stiff sidewall like those. also FYI those tires might last 10K if your lucky and becarful in the rain..
98 GTP-Mods? Yeah, lots of them

I figured Being low profile might make hooking at the track a challenge. I honestly didn't even want to run my 18's at the track anymore, but I could get these for a really good deal.

Guess I can try them out until they wear out and get some good tires for my 16's later on. That way I can have something to look forward to. Anyone ever run these?

Nitto just redid there tire compounds on alot of there line up. My friend got some new ones and he had older nitto 55's and wasn't impressed, the new compounds alot softer and he hooks 10 times better.
