i thought i saw that kinda info on a post here but i couldnt find it..

i wanna get some wheels but i dont want it to mess with my speedo & things like that.. ie: PERFORMANCE !
haha mainly just that & the tranny (:

right now i have Stock rims with 225/60 tires..
(ill double check again just to be sure)

Stock wheels are something like 16-20 lbs depending on which ones you have.

im not sure..
i want the rim look & style of the BBS.. kindaa
staggered

with a lil lip up front & something deeper on the back

satin black (: (my cars white)
something like that..
if its not satin well ill just get em painted

I like black wheels and don't prefer anything over an 18" wheel but it's all up to you.

here are my concerns:

a) staggering wheels makes little to no sense and will just end up looking stupid, especially if you do it the way you said (bigger wheel in the rear? wut?)

b) to get any considerable amount of lip you need to run pretty wide, low offset wheels. to accomplish this you will need fender work. do you have the tools and knowledge to get this done?

c) if youre talking about performance, wheels arent going to help you in that department. most, if not all, aftermarket wheels are much heavier than the stock 16s youre rocking now. this not only slows you down, but creates more stress on transmission components.


so here are my suggestions to you. find a wheel SIZE you like (18x8?, 20x8.5?), run an offset around +40mm or possibly down to +35mm, and run a tire no wider than a 245 wide. this will help with fitting them without rubbing, but there is always a chance.

its hard finding a nice deep lip in our high offset zone. yes, there are exceptions but these are mostly rims that are for people with big pockets. if you like deep lip you shouuld go for a rim thats at least 18''.

dont stagger the car. its stupid. its a fwd car, it doesnt need the wider wheels in the back. it screams rice. if you run 245's or 255's all around it still looks aggressive. check out boostjunkies car w/ 255's on it.

fender rolling is fairly easy once u get a hang of it. its just time consuming... heat the lip with a heat gun until if you touch it its HOT. not super hot, but hot enough to burn you if you keep your finger there for a bit. then grab a rubber mallet and start hitting it. go arround the full fender gradually and make sure that its still HOT. an hour or so and you should be done with all sides.

ive taught you slightly well, even though youve never done it.

Great post. It drives me nuts that people think staggering wheels on a FWD or even AWD is beneficial. Its rice at its finest.
