I tried to search for previous posts on this, but unfortunately "GXP" is too short a word to use in the search field ...

We have an '08 GXP, which comes stock with 18x8 and 255/45/18 on the front and 18x7 and 225/50/18 on the rear. When we bought the car in November, it had a brand new set of Yokohama's summer tires on it, but we soon replaced them with Blizzaks (still put 255/45 on the front and 225/50 on the rear) for winter driving. Now we've bought a set of Helo chrome rims ( Helo 844 Wheels - 844 )to use in the summer, all four are 18x8, and we're hoping that the Yokohama's (255/45 front and 225/50 rear) will go on these new Helo's without a problem. Anyone with a GXP who can advise? Also, we want to buy new TPMS sensors so that each set of wheels has them, but we've been told by a mechanic buddy that we can't use the stock ones, because their location on these new Helo rims is different to the location on the stock rims??? Any info is appreciated... Thanks!

the only ones that are in our bolt pattern are 16x8 with a 0mm offset. in other words, they are going to fit like a low rider mini truck, way out of the fenders.

if youd pay attention to bio's post, he posted why they wont fit: offset is too low. aim for something in the mid offset +30 range. look for 5x115 or 5x114.3 bolt pattern.

    Im sure it could.

But the speedo will be off I think.

245/45/18 are pretty much the same size are stock.

225/55/18 is the wrong size tire. that's why it rubs. i posted in your other thread.

Has anybody put the same255/45/18 tires that go on the front of a grand Prix GXP on the rear, replacing the 225/50/18?

    yes, you can swap them.

however, it'd be best to put that tire onto another 8" wide set of wheels instead of putting them on a set of 7" wide wheels, just based on the tire size. it can be done, but it normally isn't recommended because of the wheel width.

    Hey y'all.

GM dealer quoted me $268 each for replicas of the 6535b wheels. (i only need two, so it seems cheaper and quicker than 4 steel 8027s with four new tires.)

Is there a better deal to be had?

damn. now that i've looked at other options/prices, maybe I'd be happier throwing down on bullitts or something.

basically I have two cracked rims that go flat every 24 hours and I'm tired of farting around bringing a 12-volt air compressor everywhere... and i'm poor and lots other stuff needs fixing.
