Will one aerosol can of stripper do a set of four wheels (5 spoke)? Or should I get the 1/2 gallon container?

How about 1 stripper per wheel and make sure they're good looking. Please be sure to post pics when done. Oh wait, I mis-read the thread title.
The last set of wheels I did, I ended up using 2 cans, and since I had an extra, I went back over all 4 with the third can. Are you only stripping the face, or the entire wheel?
mmmmm strippers. I would do the whole wheel so it is all even.
If you're going to do the whole wheel, you may consider more cans or the larger container and paint it on with a brush.
After hearing stories about the aerosol and the mist getting into eyes and on other things, I'm planning to just get the 1/2 gallon and brush it on.
Are the silver painted wheels clear coated from the factory? I assume they are, so I may just paint the front side and clear the whole wheel, so there's not an "edge" from where the clear can begin to peel. They're just winter wheels, but I still want them to look good. The insides of the wheels don't appear to have anything on them at this point, but the factory paint is peeling off.
Just to give an update - I tried the aircraft stripper with little success. After applying about 4 times and scraping with a plastic scraper between each coat, I decided I'd have them blasted. I blasted them myself a little, but the sand was of poor quality. Although, it did seem to give the stripper some "tooth" and started to help with the last three coats. I waited 45 minutes to an hour and covered them with plastic to hold the moisture in, but it didn't do much.
I'm not sure what sort of coating is on those from the factory, but it's tough stuff. It's a shame, really, that they were peeling, because I'll not have a tough finish like that when I repaint them. I'll still be ahead because a refurbished wheel is over $100 or so per wheel.
