Looking to get some new tires/rims in the spring. Anyone know what the max tire size for a comfortable ride is? I want to get wide/some what skinny tires (I hate the stock ones, narrow and thick). Any ideas?

the bigger rims you get the smaller the sidewall. 19s look best, but ride harsher and are overall more expensive than 18s. 18s are what most people run.
with that youd need either 245/40/19 or 245/45/18. those are the normal size for the car.
Like Bio said most run 18s. Sizes to stay as close to stock outer diameter as possible 245/50-17, 245/45-18, 275/40-18, 245/40-19, 275/35-19, etc. etc. Many variations that will fall within acceptable tolerances. Personal taste after that. Start with what size wheel you want and it's specs, then go from there.
As for comfort, that is completely subjective from owner to owner. Not to mention the use of the vehicle and so on. Good luck.
What size wheel/tire are you running now? If you want a cushy ride, stay with 17" wheels and a decent sidewall. Once you go bigger than 18", I think the ride degrades a lot. I have 245/40-18 tires, and my fillings get loose on the big bumps.
245/45-18 = about the limit.
245/50-17 = cushy.
245/40/19s and my car rode decent. you just felt the road a little more and bumps were worse. i almost am spoiled running the stockers right now with all that sidewall.
yeah i have a similar question i saw someone had bullitt wheels from musclecar.com on their grand prix and i was wondering if i could get those in 18's? or would 17's look fine?
well im running 22's on my gtp with 245/30/22. it looks clean, but drivability wise it aint the best. with the 30 series tires you feel all the little bumps in the road plus you have to be always on alert for little pot holes, debris, everything. dont get me wrong i love my rims but for practical use, dont go anything bigger than 20s.
I have 20" on the Pontiac right now and like he said when you hit a pot hole or a speed bump you really fell it and isnt the best felling in the world had to replace one of the rims once from a pot hole it messed up the sidewall
