It may just be the type of failure. If it's occasionally missing pulses it may think that the wheel is slipping. One good reason to have it is when your cruise is set in the rain and you start to hydroplane, the cruise will kick off. That would be a good thing to happen. If it's a constant failure (shorted/open)an ABS code will be set, your traction control and ABS will be disabled but the cruise will still function. You might try just unplugging the suspect hub and see if the cruise control will work then. You'll have an ABS light on but everything else should work. It did on my 2003 Monte Carlo. I drive about 100,000 miles a year and have been through a few hubs. Don't go for the cheapest. Look for Moog, Federal or Timken. They'll be a few bucks more but will make up for it in longevity. The cheapy E-Bay hubs lasted me 35,000 miles and the Moog last well over 100,000. I do drive like a maniac through the mountains of West Virginia and that's a pretty good torture test. Good Luck
