    Sucks to suck.

Missouri is pushing to flip the law so we don't require front plates.

welcome to just about every state ever. who cares? i just run my front plate so i don't have an easy reason to pull me over.

but like missouri, wisconsin has been debating whether to remove that law or not.

I obviously care and the radio talk shows this morning echoed my opinion. Many Michiganders including myself like our cars without an ugly plate on the front bumper. I visit Ohio often and have relatives in Ohio and front plates are just down right ugly. I hope there is resistance to just another regulation that government forces upon us. I've been driving in Michigan for 30 years and the cops never had a problem before with rear plates only.

if we didn't have to do things because they were aesthetically displeasing there would be a lot of laws that wouldn't apply. your logic is terribly flawed.

Logic also states that the law has worked in Michigan for longer than I can remember and in 19 other states for that matter. I think most people will agree that the government is squeezing us from way too many angles as it is. This is a car forum and the rant section Bio come on! lol

"He also argues front license plates help police track down suspects on the run." Ever since when do people "on the run" follow laws? It's like banning guns and expecting criminals to say, "Well since it's the law...I'll get rid of my guns"

They just lifted the firework laws two years ago, they gotta bring something back.

Being from NY front plates are ugly. I see pictures of you guys without and the cars look so much better. I can see where a front plate could be helpful BUT there's no doubt in my mind it's just a money grab. Kinda like how NY just recently changed to the nasty colored orange plates because the other ones were "losing their reflectiveness" that we got only 8 years before that.

Ohio is pushing to get rid of the front plate.

And it's about freaking time. They have yet to design a decent looking plate, period - and having one is preferable to two. I still keep my plastic "Pontiac" cover in the hopes the bill passes. That plate's coming off the day it becomes law.

I had to drill holes in the front bumper of the Prius to mount a plate bracket. You can be damned sure I'll pull that bracket off and epoxy the holes back up the minute I can.

It looks like ass, and in any case, it prevents a convenient target for cops running speed traps to zero in their radar guns.

It's the only real reason why the police like the idea (and their new plate scanners that run you as you drive by).

I made my front plates work on both of my cars, I don't care either way at this point. I run them so I don't have an easy reason to be pulled over.

There was rumor they would ditch front plates on cars in NY but then I still have holes in my bumper cover. Ya'll think your plates are bad, NYS has bright yellow for ours.

I'm glad some of you agree with me. Thought this was interesting to bring up since we all love our cars. I'm just really sick of all the additional "have to's" mandated by the government and really like the front end of all my cars the way they are! Good to hear about Ohio maybe getting rid of the front plate too

CT requires a front plate. In theory if someone hits something/causes a problem a a persons viewpoint is only the front of the car.. poof the plate is there.

Not saying I like it at all. It's much more fun to have a car AAA'd with your front plate while the rear is on the car you are driving..lol
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

I doubt this bill would even pass. I wouldn't slap a front plate on any of my cars even if it did. I see it serves no purpose other to generate tickets for people who don't follow the law.

If I had to buy the plate to stick on the front of my car, I certainly wouldn't pay to have to make my car uglier.
