So I've only got to wounder what else will go wrong with this car..

    So far:
    Power steering is busted
Needs intakes and lim gaskets (as advised on this board because its drinking coolant)
2 power windows that don't work
    Shocks are gone
    tires need replaced

    and now, I've gotten:
2 power locks that will not unlock (back passenger and front driver door)
    oil leak has come back...
passenger side wiper is gimped, as in it quit moving, and the teeth that should be there are gone somehow...
driver side wiper is acting up now...
wipers act odd sometimes after turning them off. They move up some, then back down and do this for awhile, and even sometimes just fully go up and back down like they are turned on.......
break pedal has felt odd for a few days. Level in the res is ok.

So me and a buddy sat down, and figured a few things out. This is what it will cost to fix either at one time, or over the course of the year, and FYI, I'm broke, so atm it is not going to happen.

    Rack & Pinion $197.99 (cheapest)
    Power Steering Pump $51.39
    Struts $63.49 (each)
    Tie Rod Ends $15.19 (each)
    Belt $20.39

Currently without anything else being added, and buying the parts myself, it will cost a total of $427.13 (without tax) and without labor to have someone put it all on.

Guess like I've always said, I'll just drive it till it dies.. Like I did with my little dodge duster..

    well thats the rant.. :l

My differential housing broke, so I fixed that (breaking another in the process).
Then my rod bearings went out, so I replaced my engne.
Literally 10 miles after the engine was replaced, the engine went out.

Wanna tell me more about how bad your Grand Prix problems are?

Power steering is over rated, my cousin has been driving is 03 impala around for a year and a half with no power steering at all, what you can damaged has already been listed as needing replaced so have at it! although do yourself a favor and get the tie rod ends taken car of, that could turn out to be a bigger issue if left worn out

That's probably a little less than I replaced on my Bonneville in 3 days...

you should be able to do 99% of those things with common hand tools and save some $$

Well considering 4 out of those 5 things are considered "maintenance" items and eventually go wrong in most 10+ year old cars I think you'll be ok. Spend the money get it done and get pass it.

It could def be much worse... eat the cost over a few weeks and get the car back to running great. Nothing feels better than spending money and making your car run better.

    Kill it with FIRE!!!

Really though, I am still fixing the little things and dreading the more expensive stuff, but it runs good and has two whines the SC and PS pump. If you like the car fix it, if not time for new ride.

Don't get two butt hurt over repair cost, on my cummins a set of Bosch injectors runs about $2400, tranny rebuilds run cheapest $3,000 on up and engine rebuilds are somewhere north of $6,000 so I'm told

I'm not butthurt over the price, in fact I am glad it is a low number for parts. I also just did a redneck repair on the gimped wiper arm.. I put JB Weld on it, and tada works like a charm again!

Now I'm just waiting for this job to come around, and get back to me.. I hate waiting.

So few days ago, took car to autozone, had them test the alt, well he tried but he couldn't because the battery was bad... Said the alt could of caused that.. So let me start how it first happened.

So it was a cloudy day, not even that cold and maybe only needed a light coat. So it wouldn't start, cranked and spuddered for a few, then wouldn't crank at all. Got it jumped and ran it around for about 30 mins. So the next few days seemed fine, it kept starting. Well on the third day, it did it again, wouldn't start, so I got my buddy to jump the car and let it run for about 15/20 mins. Good friends said they had a battery, and would buy the conversion kit for us and put it in, well that didn't happen, as the battery was a top stud, and the Pos+ was on the wrong side. However the old battery worked just fine after and has been.

However today, I decided to let the car run, too afraid to shut it off and not start again. While waiting at the store for my grandmother to return from getting her a few things, the service light soon started flashing and when I took off in the car it was lit up without flashing.

Off to autozone later.. yay.... Oh and btw, no battery light came on at anytime, so I do not know what is up. oh yes, the wipers also quit working, only work on high now....
