Harvey's, at least they cook the burger the way it was meant to be done, flame grilled
I mean, I'll eat burgers, I just have to be in the mood for them. Any fast food place, or almost any place really, I go to I usually get something chicken related.
FWIW having one of every chain in town.....
Red Robin is good from the aspect of beer, offbeat burger (that you can't get at Wendy's etc) and unlimited steak fries. For the price, it's a good deal. Say you get the Royal, can't do that a Wendys and you can't get hot unlimited fries there either. Beer...we knew that one.
Five guys.. a burger at Five's will nearly cost me as much as a burger fries and soda at Robin.
Wendy's isn't far behind on total price out the door for burger fries and soda either. With fries being unlimited... and having different stuff posible on the burger, I'll give it to Robin everyday.
Is it a great burger? No way in hell. Is it something fantastic, definately not. Is is a good burger at a good price, YUP.
I'm the kind of guy that'll just load up on dollar menu burgers.
If I really need a fancy burger and don't want to do it myself, Iron Hill Brewery does alright.
Yeah and the Red Robin I went to, caught on fire yesterday I guess.

A Dumpster enclosure fire that spread into the building caused significant damage to a Kenosha restaurant Thursday.
Pat Ryan, division chief of fire prevention for the Kenosha Fire Department, happened to be driving past Red Robin, 6610 Green Bay Road, shortly before 11:30 a.m., when he noticed smoke billowing from the rear of the restaurant.
Ryan made the initial call for fire units, and firefighters found the Dumpster area behind the building to be engulfed in fire, said Battalion Chief Matt Haerter. The blaze had also spread to the building’s roof line and into a rear door that was left open while Red Robin employees tried to battle the fire before firefighters arrived.
All the while, the restaurant was full of lunchtime diners, Haerter said.
“To a great extent, none of the people enjoying their lunch were aware of an issue occurring at the rear of the building,” Haerter said.
Haerter said the building was evacuated as an engine company suppressed the fire from the outside.
A sprinkler system inside also helped to knock down the fire, Haerter said.
Still, Haerter called the damage “quite significant,” at roughly $100,000 according to an initial estimate. Red Robin representatives could not be reached Thursday evening.
Haerter said the fire damaged the gas and electric infrastructure at the rear of the building, leaving the restaurant without utilities Thursday night. Significant smoke damage was left behind throughout the restaurant, Haerter said.
The initial cause of the fire remained under investigation Thursday night.
Haerter said two Red Robin employees were treated for smoke inhalation. He said both had been trying to suppress the fire, which he added was not necessarily the best strategy.
“Small fires are what you use fire extinguishers on and then call the fire department,” Haerter said. “Large fires are what you simply evacuate and call the fire department. By our standards, this was what we could call a large fire.”
Are there any burger restaurant chains out there in the US that serve charcoal grilled burgers? I prefer grilled anytime over regular ones. I mean, I do stop by McDonalds and all but there's no comparison. We have a small chain here in my city that serves grilled burgers:
Cuarto de Kilo Gira Grill Burgers
Took a drive to Red Robin once (nearest one is 90 minutes from home), I was far from impressed. I was served the driest cheeseburger Ive ever eaten, Wendy's makes a better burger.
Now one place that is worth the drive is Five Guys. Nearest one is two hours from me, and I still make it a point to go a couple times a month. Put it this way, if the Portland ME location wasnt there, I would make the four hour (one way) drive to Saugus MA for one of their burgers.
4 hours for a burger......wow and I though 45 mins to get to 5 guys was crazy.
Depends on where you live. Here in mid Michigan we've got Haloburger, a chain that's been around since the 1920's. Nothing from anywhere tops a Haloburger.there is no real good burger chain they all suck imo
When I hit Robin it's for the Fish & Chips, not the burgers. The burgers are okay but Haloburger is better and cheaper to boot.
Wendys is supposed to be starting on a major overhaul with the goal of improving the burgers. Five Guys is the target; the goal is a "five star burger for a 3 star price". This will be tied in to a complete remodel of the resturant:
Some of the big additions will be flat screen tvs, Wi-Fi, digital menu boards, and lounge seats with fireplaces – for, I’m guessing, when your burger and fries call for a bit more romance. Wendy’s plans to have the majority of their restaurants reimaged by the end of 2015.
