I purchased these despite mixed reveiws. when i first got them i thought they looked awesome installed them within about 30 min. 2 days later the plastic peices where the mounting screws go in broke so now i cant mount my headlights back in which is a slight problem. also the brackets are made out of the cheapest plastic possible so i tried to change it with my stock brackets...nope wont fit would it be to much to ask for the housings fit the oem brackets that actually dont bounce with every pebble you run over. I am very displeased with these especially for the amount of money i paid for these

Lots of PITA work to get these installed and have them stay installed. I had to use a fair amount of adhesive on both brackets as mine broke on both sides like yours. But now that they are fixed, they are stronger than before and bounce less.

    Also don't forget the weatherstripping.

I find it worth it for the appearance, and the light output with the HIDs.

Crappy bracket/broken tab and bouncy should be basically every bad review out there. Minus maybe a couple it wasn't plug and play like advertised, I don't want to wire it myself, halos stopped working, but mostly every review said it was a bad cheap bracket that broke and cause bounciness.

Should have reinforced the bracket right off the bat. I think we have a thread on the whole thing amongst the other bad reviews.

    It's ok, you'll learn

Now fix them and support them right and enjoy.

You are on the interwebz right? You know what the Google search engine is right? Type in hidplanet and see what comes up. You have the most powerful tool for acquiring knowledge at your finger tips. Read... Learn.... do a retro.... be a bauce!

    And mixed reviews.... wut?

    Good:
    Looks Cool (still mixed)

    Bad:
    Bad light output
    Additional wiring required
    Bad mounting hardware
    Component lights fail
Oh... and lets not forget just how bad the mounting hardware is.

    Pretty mixed.

    And smile it's Blacktooth Grin!

im going with a high quality set of clear corners, seen a few white GPs with clear corners, and it really sets them off good.

I have had mine for almost two years now, i still get a bounce every now and then but the brackets are good, the halos work, and im using the orginal ballasts too. I only changed the blubs because i wanted 4300k over the 6k. Honestly it sounds like you over tightened the bolts on the brackets and snapped them off.

^^Was gunna say you over tightened the bolts...

I had spyders on my 98 GTP and never broke the tabs. I tried the weather stripping on the underside too. It works for a while, but the best thing to do is make wood wedges and wedge them under the front bumper cover directly under the headlights... Sounds crude but zero bounce.

If anyone knows Adam (1UVAKIND) he did the same thing.

But yeah, op if you googled spyder reviews for our cars you'd see alot of peeps have had the same gripes ever since these things hit the market.

    Buyer beware.

I took my brackets apart and did about 5 coats of truck bed liner. that made the brackets about an extra 2mm all around. That plus weather stripping and i have zero complaints so far.

Sounds cruel but try putting that tab on the outside of that spot it slides in, I looked around people tried wrapping electric tape around the tab but that didnt work for me I put the tab on the outside of it and almost no shake. Just be careful when screwing in the bolt it will break the plastic if you over tighten.
