So while i've been looking for a house, doing paperwork, and closing (today) I've been living in a hotel for the last 6 months....my last day in it. Haven't had a problem up until now. I go outside, and jumping out at me like a pissed off grasshopper is a nice red gash on my driver side rear door, clearly caused by someone opening their door too hard. It wasn't too bad, can be buffed out, i was pissed but not too worked up, but something tells me to go check the other side. Sure enough on the front pax door, a big fat gouge, covered in white paint from the POS van next to me, taking paint off and leaving a small dent. It wasn't like i was parked off to one side of the parking spot, i was about as perfectly centered as centered(ish) gets. And even if someone does park like crap and its inevitable to hit them, at least do what everyone else does and open your door softly and set it against the car gently. Don't be an asshole and FLING your door open like you're running from the cops. Just because you drive a piece of crap that no one cares about, doesn't give you the right to not care about any other car. If anything its the other way around, but I digress. Just because you gave up on life and either had a million kids and/or bought the $1000 special at your local mexican-used-car-lot, doesn't mean the rest of us dont splurge a little on a place we spend a decent chunk of our lives. If its not yours, be careful. That vengeful part of my brain really wanted to take the paint scraper out of my toolbox in the trunk and just have at his POS car, and then dump salt-water on its new wounds. But I didn't, I settled for cursing and glaring and remembering that I have touch up paint. Sucks when no one is there to yell at, but if you see an offender, feel free to verbally (or physically, whichever floats your boat) rip their head off. Thanks and have a great day.

First week I had my GP some one pulled in to a parking spot hit my car and left two front licence marks and the out like of the plate holder on my back bumper. Fortunately? for me a 2 years later I had a dump truck turn wide into me and the repairs included a new bumper cover.

This happened to me once. A big caddy parked next to me and my pass side door had a nice ding and fresh paint. Needless to say that person needed more that touch-up paint to remove the huge dents I left in the door with my feet. Don't get me started on a$$holes that leave shopping carts out becasue they are too lazy to push it to the cart stall two spaces down......

THE BEST place to park is next to the cart holders in parking lots. I park to them every time I go shopping.

I try too. I have gave a few people hell becasue of this. I don't understand. You ush it around while you are in the store and you can't push it another 20ft to the cart holder? I have a three yr old and i manage to put the cart back.

This is another reason I shop at Aldi's

The WORST place to park is by the cart holders.
Lazy s.o.b.'s just push there carts in the general vicinity of the holder, anything close will get hit.

My friend and I were at walmart one night and there was a cart in one of the first spots in front of the store so my friend nales the gas and hits it with his grand am (its a POS) and the cart flew halfway across the lot It was like 1 in the morning so we were the only people there so no cars to hit with the cart.

this is what the asshole who parked next to my mother in assigned spots. he did all this bumper to bumper, the whole side needed body work and new paint.

my regal has been hit has well, (while parked) lost my d/s mirror, someone busted it for me, and then someone pulled into the spot next to me and side swiped my car as well, left nice scuffs a small dent.

    people are assholes for sure.

i used to plow a walmart, and oh boy did i have fun plowing them shopping carts into piles of snow lol

if they were lucky, we would all wrangle the cars up by leaving the plow up 4 inches, and just pushing the carts in piles to the front of the store for the cart guys to come get, only happened 2 times.

I like that the used car lot in this story is a Mexican used car lot.

Not sure if you know this, but people with nice cars do this **** too....

Happened to me a couple month ago, some guy parked right up my ass and was touching my bumper, enough to make me go bananas! I moved my car forward and saw he left a little scratch on the bumper so I just kicked his driver side door and left him a note to park correctly nxt time,

This thread is the reason why I own a DD and a "Toy". My toy stays in the garage, and try to avoid at all costs taking it places where it can get damaged by idiots. I remember my sophomore year of college I pulled into my dorm parking lot and a few seconds after I got out of my car I heard a crashing noise. Turned around and heard another. Two idiots were throwing beer bottles at the side of a van near the other end of the parking lot.
