GXP, GTP, GT, etc are trim levels, not sub-models. The reason Pontiac changed ALL the nameplates is because the average person associates Grand Prix, Grand Am, Sunfire, etc with "pile of dog sh*t cars". Remember, we may tolerate what these cars put us through as enthusiasts, but your average consumer is NOT going to have any of that. The idea was to start with a fresh, clean slate for Pontiac so that these better cars weren't attached to that stigma, all while trying to give the cars a bit of European flare (thus the numbered nameplates).Originally Posted by nemesis
