Also aaron, why is a bar and plate better? It mounts in a way that ruins air flow.
Taz, go to parts store. Tell them you have a 91 golf, get a rad for that. Spectre part number is CU98. 1.8 L with A/C.
That'll get you taken care of for friday.
Edit: that looks strikingly like the rad from a 91 golf anyways... so it'll fit just the same. 1.25" core, right width, not full height.
Bar and plate intercoolers offer superior heat rejection as opposed to tube and fin, and provide superior interior airflow compared to tube and fin designs. Since the intake tube sits flush with the core, no additional air turbulence is created. While being substantially heavier than tube and fin designs, bar and plate intercoolers are less susceptible to damage from debris.

You don't mention CT thus I don't believe you're on enough W body websites to trust :p

C&P? The flow is worse due to how it mounts.
It creates lots of turbulence. forcing air to flow through anything does.
If you mount it in front of the condensor.... very difficult to do it harm.
We use tube and fin for rads, why? because they're cheaper yet work quite well.

maybe im missing it but wtf is ct?

Re: Absolutely unacceptable, zzp you just lost a customer for life
to ZZP, the GP market is dead, and they already own it so why devote any more time and effort. they are focusing on cobalt **** now. i have personally gone to ZZP many time and they are great to deal with if you're standing there with cash in your hand. i hated them at first, but now that then know me and my car, and know that they get my money when i need parts or dyno time, they are much better to deal with.
if you don't like them, then pay more for WBS to order it from ZZP and then re-sell it to you...

Actually sounds like there are 2 problems here. One the OP didn't ask for pictures before purchasing it used. Two, where it's bent it looks more like the shipping company decided to stack something on the box it was in. I bet the box it came in was pretty beat up. ;)

yea your right but considering I was buying it from a company and not a private seller I thought it would atleast work... Ive honestly never had a single problem with zzp untill this

You still haven't mentioned how the box it came in looked. Have a picture of that? Because this whole thread is automatically accusing and everyone has jumped on the bandwagon like little high school girls. Yet, we haven't seen what the shipped box looked like yet. Regardless who is sending it why would you buy something blindly? If it was a new product I could understand, but you stated it was used. Why wouldn't you want to see it before buying it.
Thats like buying a used car from a a well known dealership without seeing the car. Who does that?

Re: Absolutely unacceptable, zzp you just lost a customer for life
I'd rather have one that said eBay on it just for the laugh factor.

Re: Absolutely unacceptable, zzp you just lost a customer for life
Here comes the blaming you part. Why would zzp sell something to someone that's not useable...weather they ask to see it or not. And there is no band wagon on my part...just a 2 year stream of piss I got from zzp before I finally decided to not buy from them anymore...and a lot of other people have the same experience. If this is "normal" business practice why is there not 30 plus threads on wbs or the other vendors ****ing people blind? Why is it so hard to accept that zzp, who once was the only and the best company to order parts from is now a worthless pile of steaming dog ****?
-
Re: Absolutely unacceptable, zzp you just lost a customer for life
No one is blaming him. I've asked twice how the box was or at least a picture. Look how it's bent in the picture, and tell me that doesn't look like soemthing heavy was set on top of it. Everyone has jumped to conclusions without seeing how the box and none of us even know if that is how it was shipped since he didn't ask for pictures. I'm one who is logical and rational and gets all the facts before automatically assuming it's anyones fault.
Congrats you think ZZP is dog pile ****, that doesn't mean everyone agrees. Just like everyone isn't going to agree when I recommend ZZP to someone. Apparently I've had good luck with them in the 5 years I've been doing business. And even the times something screwed up has happened they always made it right.

Zzp IS great. Until you run into a problem. Then they suck

I will do business with them only because I live 30 minutes from them and can go get my stuff from them

Re: Absolutely unacceptable, zzp you just lost a customer for life
Heres the box.
http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...95412094_n.jpg
It's a little rough but theres no huge dents in it also no sign of 30 impact holes. The box was much bigger than the radiator itself to make room for packing material and the other stuff I ordered.
http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...61308860_n.jpg
See all the packing material it had the rad was covered on both sides with cardboard then all four corners had the good grey padding than all the othe padding anf packing material filled the space. It was packed very well and its clear the damage was there before it was shipped.
In my experience with zzp they have always rocked at shipping everything comes packed very well and on time.
If you ask me what I think the dent/ bend in the radiator isn't from it being damaged while it was shipped its from someone forcing it onto their car without cutting their hood latch to aloow for proper fit. So person tried to get this thing to fit had no luck got pissed, beat the **** out of it trying to make it fit again then they relized they ****ed up and sent it back to zzp.

Re: Absolutely unacceptable, zzp you just lost a customer for life
Oh and btw guys the picture was of the back
This is the front.
http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...80838323_n.jpg
It looks pretty good. It is possible they packed it up without seeing the back and didn't know. But you can stil see the dent in the top.
This is the back again.
http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...43983949_n.jpg
this is the back after I spent acouple hours with a small pick.
http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...65078942_n.jpg
Better but still beat up... I may have blown this out of proportion

Re: Absolutely unacceptable, zzp you just lost a customer for life
That sucks. That radiator looks like it was a special prototype... Bullet proof vest/ door mat.
that the sham-wow guy wouldn't even be able to sell... To a scrap yard. And that is all

Re: Absolutely unacceptable, zzp you just lost a customer for life
I bet that it leaks like a *****! go have is pressure tested.

Re: Absolutely unacceptable, zzp you just lost a customer for life
I'd still contact them. Even though you should have asked for pictures there wasn't anything int he description that would warrant you thinking it was damaged. Send the pictures of the radiator and the pictures of the box. Let them know that it doesn't seem likely damage would have taken place during shipping. If the product was truly packaged as well as you say, it seems that it would be hard to miss the bend while packing it.
Email Steve and word the email in an adult manner and see if they can do anything for you. Lets give them a chance to make things right.

He already listed his email he was/did send. To me, it seemed very professional and in an "adult" manner. If they shrugged it off like no big deal, then well vulgar words would be flying.
