So a while back my car started making a funny noise when i took a turn and the check engine light came on. I remembered the dealer who I bought it from said if in within a year come back we can fix anything for you for a good price. So i brought back to him he said hed take care of it . The guy charged me 300. I get my car back everything checks out no check engine no noise.
Two months later i hear the noise again, so im like what gives. I decide to take it to my dads friends shop. He finds out that the intake manifold is clogged up with some anitleaking solution crap and which led to mud in my radiator as well and some whole other stuff. The mechanic said hes surprised my car was even running not only that he said my engine could have blown up. Cost me $1,200 to fix it. Well actually it cost the dealer 1,200 to fix it because I went over to his dealership and told him what i found out and said if he didn't want to get sued he would pay the 1,200 didnt even care about my 300 i originally payed at that point.BTW the solution of the stuff in there was so concentrated it started eating through the manifold. I got a vid the mechanic took.

Wow, never ever under any circumstances ever take your car to the dealership to have work done. Take it to a mechanic.

This. It helps to know the mechanics, and who is bad and who is good. The mechanic who works on my car at the dealership I work at is the best one there, and a good friend too.

^ The shop I sometimes use has 3/7 good mechanics and I've only ever used the one because he's my buddy.
Irridium spark plugs last 100k mi and work just as well as copper. Copper is a waste on N/A and only lasts 15k mi. Don't use Platinum.
Use 195* tstat unless you can thoroughly explain why not; 99.9% don't need a lower temp.
Almost any oil filter, ever, is of higher quality than ACDelco. Spend $6+.

I took my car to the dealership for a windshield replacement, it took them almost 2 weeks to get it done and I didnt notice it when I drove away but when I got home I saw it immediately...

After they installed my windshield I guess they took it upon themselves to detail my car and they buffed the CRAP out of my paint, the whole car was swirl city, it was terrible... I dunno if it was the guy's first day with a buffer or what but I think if you work at a body shop you should know how to use one...

Then I took it back and they wouldnt fix it without charging me for a full service detail, they told me I did it myself when I took it home and just brought it back to blame it on them.

Did you ever find out what was done to cause that???

I only ask because I bought a used engine that had sat for a while and the Dexcool had "gunked" up in the same coolant passage. Flushed the motor, new gaskets, and new oil and shes running strong.

I also work at the dealership and our techs don't cut corners like that, but we used to sell some "Cooling System Seal Tabs" that are brown tablets you crush up and put into the radiator to "seal" cracks and what not... if something went wrong I could see those being the culprit, but those are only used for coolant leaks in the radiator and we never had anything like that come back to us...

i had the dealer try to f me too. they epoxied the T case in my truck, never told, me as they knew they would never see me again because my warranty was up in 40 miles. i cought it 10 minutes later, and called them out on it, then i got a brand new T case installed. the manager actually tried to look surprised, i almost kicked his friggin ass.

glad you got your working right again too.

i'd look at it like a 300 dollar lim job, but then again with that video you got some good evidence against them if you wanted to go that route.

the mechanic basically said they put soo much anti leaking solution in there it clogged my manifold which then led into a domino effect leaving sediment in my oil and mud in my radiator.
