like dropping $2200 on a built trans then turning around a week later and dropping $2400 for a turbo kit? All while having a wife and daughter.

Try flipping cheap cars. You'd be amazed how much money you can make in a short time.

First of all I don't appreciate being called a Butthole, that's not really a term of endearment where I come from.......

Well I make $13/hr but am still making payments on my car, pay insurance, cell phone, and pay for groceries in the house. I normally have about $300 left but after gas its like $200. So I buy what I can and let my numerous female friends buy everything else I need

it's just the lifestyle you want. and time... it takes forever to build this stuff. all i've done is tear my stuff apart lol. still a couple hundred bucks from finishing it, and spare money's hard to come by. my boss slashed my hours around new years, i'm just making my truck payment and insurance, and paying for gas to get to and from work/school. best advice is to not put yourself on a time table... you wont meet that goal.

    I'm a CEO and I make 10k a day.

But for serious I just work hard, don't have relationships (relationships = balls full, wallet empty and single = balls empty, wallet full) and a old hag drove into my pickup truck, totaling it and her insurance company gave me almost 9k and my car cost $5800. Yeah I think that helped lol.

hmmm... I live with my GF, I pay rent and half the bills, still paying off the GTP with a Mexican salary although I have a good job here, I still manage to save a couple hundred bucks every month.

It's easy to get started, you think you won't spend that much, first a downpipe or a tuned PCM which are cheap, then you say "oh what the hell I'll do headers and drop a pulley size". When I started doing this I thought going cammed would be too much expense but I did it anyway, now I'm getting an intercooler as soon as I get the PCM tunning figured out. But the intercooler will be the last mod I PROMISE! although my GF doesn't believe that's true...

I'm a journeyman electrician. I don't make a lot of money, actually not a lot at all right now, the guy i work for is a jerk off, your lucky to get paid on time, usually beats us on hours and gas checks for his vans. Side jobs is where you can make decent $$$ I also do a little street tuning on the side for a couple of members on here.

Your crazy if you think the aftermarket for these cars is expensive, these are the cheapest cars to build lol

btw it took me since 08' to get my bone stock 99 gt where it is today

Best advice I could give would be set a goal for your car as far as mods go, and stick to that. Also, add about 10% more to the total cost as there are always things that you forget or come up when modding. Doing this will keep you from getting all ADHD on your car and never finishing anything lol....

It kills me that I have so many things I need to do to finish my various cars, but I have bigger priorities (house, car payment, 3 year old, wife, etc..). I just do what I can to keep them maintained and upgrade parts when I can. My list is so long its not funny. I'm working on cutting some out this year. Just too much sh*t to do on too many cars. It's pretty sad when you have a 6 car garage and you still have 2 cars that sit outside, lol...
