As far as GM rebadging. They have always done this. All manufactures do this to cut cost. As a major Pontiac fan, I think dropping pontiac was a mistake. But GM said it has not made a profit in years. I hope the new focus in the Buick, and Chevrolet will bring some affordable performance back to the market.
Pontiac is also the only brand that was not put up for sale like the others. Some people are holding out for the return of Pontiac as a true performance brand when GM gets completely back up on their feet.

Not to mention they were selling cars like the Aztek that helped ruin the brand in recent years, and good cars like the GTO were never really advertised all that well like it should've been.

If they bring pontiac back as a performance brand, the US needs to make them all, not aussies.

You should see an edit button on all of your posts.

If you click it it lets you change or add to your post so you dont need to have three posts in a row just because you forgot some info or wanted to add something.

Just keeps it a bit cleaner.

Just did some peeping around on the interwebz and I've become very irritated with GM and their ridiculous amount of vehicles. IMO, turn the Cruze into the new Cobalt, ditch the Aveo, give the Malibu the 3.9L, make the G8 the new Impala (**** this Caprice bull**** -- standard with the 3.6L), do SOMETHING with the Camaro (hard top convertible?), and for ****s sake quit *****footing around and give us a turbo Corvette ZR1. Oh, and the Volt? First off, apply that sweet styling to the rest of the ****ing Chevrolet brand. Also, use better battery tech and keep it as GM's electric-only hippy-happying toy -- it makes more sense to completely relieve it of gasoline. After all it is the Volt, not the Electric-Oil-Burner.

    P.S. Ditch the HHR.

    I'll take my money now.

The Aveo is a re badged Daewoo. Look at the sticker inside the door frame sometime. Made in Korea. Get rid of it and AMEN on the Turbo Corvette.

I think the only reason the volt can use gas is for longer trips, but if they used better battery tech like you said then they wouldnt need it. But still, not every place in the country has outlets for electric cars yet so you need a back up for a vacation trip or something.

I'd rather not ever come close enough to an Aveo to see it. That car is an absolute piece of garbage, that's why it costs $12k brand ****ing new.

You can plug electric cars into a regular outlet. You may not notice them but there are outdoor outlets EVERYWHERE. At my work we have them on the light poles in the parking lot. I think the Volt should take many lessons from the Tesla Roadster. It uses MUCH better battery tech and doesn't even have the option to use gas. It also charges faster and will go ~850% farther on a single charge. 35 miles on electricity? Really Chevy? That's like giving a car a 2 gallon gas tank.

I think the future of electric cars will be interchangeable batteries, where instead of standing there charging your battery, you pay to exchange your empty one for a full one, and the ones that don't hold a charge will be filtered out during this cycle, the cost of which will be paid for by part of the cost of exchanging your battery. By applying this cost to everyone in smaller amounts, it will spread out the cost of a brand new battery across everyone that "fills up" at any particular electric station.

Either that or many multiple cell batteries combined with ultra high capacity charging stations with multiple outlets combined into a single plug for extremely fast charging.

The future of electric cars is bright, as long as the people finally realize that oil is an archaic method of powering our vehicles and invest in newer technologies rather than going with what's cheap (like the ****ing Aveo......****!).

I saw an ad for a Chevy dealer where you got a free Aveo with every ZR1 Vette you bought. I'm serious.
