Well yesterday morning I woke up to try and dig my car out of the snow. Now with out thinking I parked my car on the right side of my street on sunday... The side where the plows push all snow -_- Now let me get to the upsetting part. I started removing some of the snow off the sides and saw that I was missing half my mirror I'm guessing the plow kicked up some ice and it ended up hitting my car. I didn't see it happen so I can't make a claim against the city. Just figured I'd vent some of my anger. Anyone have a ball park on how much a mirror would cost? I'll post some pictures up of the damage.

50-70 bucks depending. I'd look in the yards first to find one that matches your color.

You also have a different body style. He's 04+ so they're gonna run tighter. I just checked and OUR yards are all running them 60+

I guess I'll start checking yards when the snow starts to clear up a little more. I gave up on digging my car out when I saw that lol I just took the bus to work and called it a day. I duck taped my focus when things broke, I'm gonna try to replace broken things this time lol Thanx for the help guys!

That video was just pure stupidity, I'd kill someone. I figured if the plow actually hit it than the entire thing would have been ripped off leaving some damage on the fender as well.

Well, it later occured to me that I probably wasn't specific enough in my description of the damage. Heres some pictures to give you guys a better look at the damage.

that was probably cause when the plows made a second pass and the snows weight was pushing along the car. still sucks.

as for the vid i posted those two fools were probably punch drunk from being up for god only knows how many hours. def a couple of over paid morons.

I believe most places you're supposed to remove cars from the street during snow removal. I know here it is that way. With that in mind, I'm pretty sure it's a "**** happens" deal and even if there were clear signs the plow damaged it, they'd simply tell you that you car was supposed to be off the street.

here you can only park on one side of the street except for saturday and sunday. that makes it so they can at least plow one side.

about a month ago I noticed that my hole right side mirror assembly was like poped out looked like it was about to fall out anyways i took it all the way out and saw that the three mounting holes were like pulled out and the paint was cracked so i pounded them back down flat and bolted the thing back on and like a week later in my school parking lot I watched chick walk right into my right side mirror and it ended up with the same results. I swear do people just not freaking look were there going or care about other peopls stuff

Things are a little different in the Bronx. There are designated areas where your not allowed to park during snow storms but I live in a private area. There's alternate side of the street parking but that has been suspended since the day it snowed. IF it was in effect and my car got damaged than it would have been my fault but I was clearly not at fault in this situation. I can't prove it was the plow, could have been a regular joe driving by but I guess we'll never know.

GM wants 130$ for a new mirror and that not including paint. I'm probably just gonna get an aftermarket mirror for like 60$ and have a shop paint it. I've checked a hand full of yards in my area but no luck yet. I've been lucky enough not to get stopped or ticketed for the missing mirror so I guess thats an upside.
