It must be the area where I live, but there are zero Grand Prix's, not even a single W-body in the four 10+ acre junkyards I went to today. If you own a Grand Am though, youre in luck, I counted around 30 Grand Ams, same with Bonnevilles.

All I want is some effin tail lights that dont leak, and spending all day driving around once a month to junkyards to come home with nothing gets old quick. Since I bought my car Ive only seen one GP in a yard and it was a tan 97 SE and it was gutted.

I mean I cant find a damn GP in the same 10 acre yard that had a new unwrecked charger and a CTS?

Anyone else have problems with large junkyards and no cars to take parts from?

they want too much for parts anyway. we all know they are worth nothing, however they think they fell upon gold. buy used parts from the community, guy.

There are alot of grand ams because they are CRAP cars, now the grand prix, there;s a car, they last alot longer, and are alot more comfortable, not the mention FASTER!
GP's are scarce here too in FL, lots of grand ams though.
And about the tailights, good luck, they all go bad, and if you do find a good one, it will go bad sooner or later, usually it will be sooner, so do yourself a favor and get new ones, that;s what I did.
Face it, Grand Prix's are nice cars, people drive the heck out of them, unlike the "throwaway" Grand am, YUK.

maybe people love GPs so much they scoop them up before they hit the yards!

thats cuz all the grand prixs in MI have owners that mod the s*** out of them and never get rid of them lol

that, or 3800s/grand prixs are all going to a certain company like Morad Parts Co who buys them. I notice theres alot of parts on craiglist coming from MI. For instance, Ed Morad never can buy any corvettes around him becaue another local guy only buys corvettes. Ed doesnt touch them because the dude could easily put him out of business. He stays out of their biz, they stay out of his. Maybe thats how the yards are there? who knows.

Thats sh**ty, around here there's a yard with at least 20-30 GP's. 10 or so are GTP's...there's 1 98 Daytona and one 00 Daytona. The 98 is gutted, but the 2000 is complete, just hit in the rear quarter. I guess i'm lucky

Found one old GP out here... was shopping to see if it was worthwhile to come back the next day ($40 to enter, $1/part). Worthless.

the one around me doesn't have any. probably a good thing, i would have wasted so much money on a new passenger door in a fit of rage and be kicking myself now that i have everything kinda sorta fixed.

I'm not sure where you're located, but here's a price list for Parts Galore on 8 Mile and Hoover. They also have another location closer to Detroit, went there once, but forget exactly where it is...you could Google it for that address, though...

Parts Galore Price List - XceedSpeed

    11360 E 8 Mile Rd
    Detroit, MI 48205
    (313) 245-2944

Very decent prices, there is a $1 "entry fee" per person, not sure if there are any GP's there, but I'm assuming so. I haven't been there, yet, for mine, but have gotten parts there before for my other cars. Hope this helps. Oh, and if you try to call them, don't be surprised if they don't answer the phone or just have a recording on...PITA, but it has been a good yard for me.
