Whats with gaming recently?

When COD MW came out, that single player was the best out there that I have played since SMB3. I like playing CODMW2 and Battlefield BC 2 online just to **** alot of people up, there is more to it than getting a good shot off, it takes skill and some mind games to keep up. I basically play whatever game my friends/buddies are playing. But now I moved and don't have decent internet, so I play Forza 3. I built a civic hatch that will spin the front tires at 110mph. I basically roast the tires throuhgout the race and only let up when I need the front tires to turn. Any game can be made fun but the best games out there now is whatever game keeps the kid with ADD on it the longest.

My ideal of gaming is XBOX 360 + 500gb Sata HD+ JTAG/Firmware = Best Gaming EVER!!!

That is until sega killed the servers in january when thousands of ppl still played it(screw sega x10)....I had 4 gamertags for that game and over 2k hrs in 3 yrs. It was the most strategic game ive ever played and never got tired of....and oh yea, screw MW2, its all about who can take advantage of the newest glitch. I got tired of it and sold it.

the only problem with gaming these days is that there is so many leg humpers for halo and call of duty. other than that i belive gaming is at an all time high. plenty of different games for both ps3 and the xbox. plus the best thing is that more and better games are still comming out.

You want a great storyline? Pick up Bioshock 1 and 2. Both are relatively short games, but the story is amazingly immersive. You absolutely don't want to put it down.

Another story game, Red Dead Redemption. I was on a leave of absence for a hernia from work for 2 weeks and put 40+ hours into that game. Absolutely brilliant piece of work.

Other games that every 360 owner should have are Gears of War and Gears of War 2. I'm so pumped for Gears 3 it's not even funny. I spent so much time playing Gears 1, the online was so amazing. They totally screwed up Gears 2 with matchmaking and I hope Gears 3 goes back to its roots.

And everyone wanting a racer, skip Forza, skip Grid, Dirt, etc..... TWO WORDS.... Hot Pursuit. Criterion games now has a chance at the Need for Speed franchise and is releasing Need for Speed Hot Pursuit AGAIN!!! I'm so reaking pumped, Hot Pursuit 2 sucked hours out of my life on ps2 and i hope that the arcade racer genre gets some life back into its lungs this november. Watch the trailer here

If you like older games like the arcade or whatever, there is romnation.net to check out, it is an emulator.

For more up to date, there is something called Second Life.
Thing is with Second Life, there is a learning curve, and the games are mostly role-play, more social than hard-core action and killing.
On Second Life, there ARE Sims on there that are for fighting but it is probably not that great cause lag is a big factor on there.

On SL, your avatar is fully customizable and can be changed appearance at will, but it can take some learning on how to edit the thing. To some, it is merely a chat room, some like to build crap (takes some learning), there is a monetary system, you can buy "linden credits" using real life money, or earn them (hard to do unless you can sink morals)
Parts of it you do have to be 18 or older to get in the particular sims.

Second Life is more of a 3-D chat room basically. And at first, everything seems a huge hassle like learning a new operating system but once you learn all that (residents typically are good about helping) then you can do whatever floats your boat. My avatar is one of my characters from SL.

Final fantasies have become a bust for me. They still have the story but the game play has changed so much. Call me old fashion but I like the old turn based fights with the ability to freely roam the map as I feel necessary. After FF7 it was all down hill. As for shooters they are only worth it on line in moderation

i feel the same way. FFXIII was a GREAT story, but the linear gameplay wasn't what it could have been. the battle system is also kind whacked, but i got used to it. i still favor FFVII over all of the others.

Yeah XIII i liked the battle it took some time to get used to for sure. But I was disappointed with the linear story :-/

Im still stuck on games like World of Warcraft (waiting for insults) and the Starcrafts (dont have 2 yet need better video card). Until another great RPG game comes out thats probably what I am going to play

That was a Source mod. Never got into it. Still haven't had the time to unwrap the cellophane from my HL2. Other answers could have included HammyBob, The Specialists, and Ricochet.
