holy crap so yesterday night i went to best buy to look at subs because i want that or a tattoo as a present to myself for my tax return.. and im talking to the guy about getting a rockford p2 and amp and thats it installed. he tells me it would be 800-1100 bucks. holy frickin crap. which is ridiculous to me because me and my boyfriend were there a week ago looking at getting him an entire system for his truck they told him install headunit 6 speakers and two subs amp and box for 1000. so please tell me how one sub box and amp for my car would be just as much? flippin douchebags im going on craigslist.

I bought a Rockford Fosgate Prime 500W amp for like 200$

Amazing SUBS should be no more then 300-400$

get 2 kickers with a custom box for like 180$ and they are plenty of quality and BOOM BOOM.

I agree with you BUT if you know how to use it effectively and sift through the bullish (which isn't hard) you can find some great deals. I bought both my GP off there and several other cars I've had in the last three years.

not if you want a flat frequency response AKA the ability to listen to music and have all the different notes be the same volume.

Get the Q's and be done with it.

A lot of my friends are like that, all you hear is bass and no music. Talk about annoying.

even worse are the one note systems.

gotta have some speakers to back it all up as well as non-one note bass.

yeah, my one friend has 2 tweeters, and no speakers, and 2 pioneer subs from like 1990, and when they try to hit the really deep bass, it sounds like an 80 year old grandpa thats constipated and sat on his balls.

Yeah, I wonder what people think. If I ever get a system for my gp, I'll probly just get a fosgate P3 10" in a ported box. I think that would sound perfect with a stock bose system.

Exactly! I hate how people immediately trash craigslist but then get ripped off on ebay. I also bought my GP on there (at a great deal), my phone, and helped several friends buy cars through there. It just takes common sense, careful inspection, and always cash only.

One of my friends had a great Crutchfield experience when he needed installation help, their knowledge is endless.

^^I realize a stock L36 is not as fast as the sticker implies, but this sticker has worked and it is still a hell of a lot of fun to drive considering it's a grocery sedan.

    decent but its incredibly overpriced.

its only partially about WHAT you get but also very heavily based on WHERE you use it and HOW.

jl's are nice the subs anyway. and yes they are way over priced. as far as original poster. a fosgate p2 is like 130+ a sub if i remember right? and a box from worst buy is like 200 + a decent brand new 5-600 watt amp is anether 5-700. . just my 2 cents i would stay clear of p2 subs. i used to have 2 p2's and a 600watt 4 channle power foasgate amp and i blew 3 sets of the p2's +- connections right off the weld from the sub frame in 2 weeks. was a big pain in the ass and ended up with different subs.

I agree. The install is really not that hard. It will take some time though.
