This was copy/pasted from an IM:
my car kept dying a few months ago so i brought it in. he diagnosed it as a bad ignition module and i had him replace the fuel sending unit (guage was off) since it was under warranty. I got the car back and was amazed that he didnt run out of gas (i purposely let it go low for him).
i went to the gas station and was filling up my tank and all of a sudden a huge spash of gas came from underneith the car. i had it towed back there and he said "they" forgot to put an o-ring on the new pump
i get the car back and was driving it a day or two later and it dies and wont start for more than a second. turns out to be a bad fuel pump resistor. he puts a nice ugly white u shaped thing under my hood that he calls a resistor.
well about two weeks ago i ended up stranded about an hour and a half away from my house. had to call my buddy up and crash at his place. he was wasnt too happy, i think he was in bed with his girl when i called haha. but anyways the car wouldnt stay running that night so he dropped me back off in the morning and i managed to keep it running good enough when warm to get it to a firestone shop. they let it cool off for about two hours (i shouldve been at work at that time) and where never able to get it to die. they cleaned out the mass air flow sensor and the idle air control valve and the car ran great!
well it died a couple of days ago out of nowhere and i hoped that it was just a fluke. nope. it wouldnt stay running last night. i had it towed to the dealership and got a call saying the fuel pump is bad!
so now i owe $186 in diagnostic fees on top of the 100 that firestone charged me grrr...
The mechanics shop name will be released if he doesnt fix this in a timely manner. This is some bull****.
