Got my sisters 2006 chevy equinox right now, hell everything was wrong with it, 101k miles, changed spark plugs, wires, front axles, wheel bearings, tie rods, control arms, struts on front, shocks on back. Also replaced the lock cylinder, this is my problem, the only thing wrong with it was both front axles were bad, from what? Who knows. My sister probably ran something over.

I got everything for 600$, better than the cost of replacing one axle at a shop. Everythings in the car now, but this damn ignition lock cylinder, pissing me off.

I got it in, both the keys started the vehicle right away, so i put trim back on, and now it doesn't do anything when I try to turn it over, the lights go out, and you hear a click like the batterys dead. Thats not the issue, I have tried jump starting it with two different vehicles, a 07 yukon, and a 01 grand prix. Both times did nothing to help my problem. I have left battery charger on it on 12/2, and have tried 12/6 charging.

Now, i have tried removing the negative battery cable and that reset the pcm, but then the security light comes on when you try to turn it over, the oem keys did not have a chip in them, and neither do the new set of keys. I am just able ready to throw the old one back in, and let my sister cross her fingers she is able to turn the key over, it would stick and not turn.

The security light does not turn off, it said that it should go off after 10 mins, then turn off for 30 seconds then back on, and do that a total of 3 times for it to learn the key, but theres no chip in the key, so i am really confused. And angry

Found this for an 05 'Nox. It's similar to what you tried but with less time between key cycles. Maybe it'll work???

Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
Attempt to start the engine, then release the key to ON. The vehicle will not start.
Observe the SECURITY telltale. After approximately 10 minutes, the telltale will turn OFF.
Turn OFF the ignition, and wait 5 seconds.
Repeat steps 1-4 two more times for a total of 3 cycles/30 minutes. The vehicle is now ready to relearn the Passlock™ Sensor Data Code and/or passwords on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to RUN.
Important: The vehicle learns the Passlock™ Sensor Data Code and/or password XXXXX the next ignition switch transition from OFF to RUN. You must turn the ignition OFF before attempting to start the vehicle.
Start the engine. The vehicle has now learned the Passlock™ Sensor Data Code and/or password.
With a scan tool, clear any DTCs if needed. History DTCs will self clear after 100 ignition cycles.

This is correct, but the 2006 equinox I am working on, does not have chipped keys. I went ahead and checked all connections and found a blown fuse for ign switch, replaced, jump started it and it started up, so that problems fixed, ordered a solenoid that was broken, 14$ noticed it when I was doing spark plugs and the air filter.

That will come this week, my dad bent the **** out of the dust shields and they are making a horrible noise when going 10+mph, have to bend them back into shape or pay a decent amount for two dust shields.

Yeah I am procrastinating on removing both front tires and bending the dust shields back..
