    I personally like using the clear coat method even though it takes longer. The reason for it is that once you get the clear on there, you have provided a barrier between the elements and debris and the plastic of the headlight. Also, you can always wet sand and polish the clear should it need cleaning again and never have to cut into the plastic with sanding again.

    But if you need to get it done quicker, then the process that the 3M kit uses, sanding and polishing, works equally as well. It just leaves the plastic exposed to be beat up on again.

    They also sell the plastic/vinyl protectors. They work great.

    Thats a good option too if you can get them. I could not find them around here or a place to get them for our specific headlights.

    Cheapest place for them I could find was actually ClubGP. You can go straight to the manufacturer for them, too, as they offer clear, blue, yellow, and smoke tinted versions for a few bucks more. It comes as a full set of six to cover headlights, corner lights, and fog lights.
