oh you....
Odd...when I put mine together it was like this:
Heads cost me $700
Brand new full S3 WBS IC with new meziere pump cost me $500
Gen V cost me $300
And those 1.8's I added onto the top of the cam with the added lift.. $30
Total cost $1530 ...
I still agree that the TVS looks like a better option if you want to stay with a blower. BTW...does it have some good blower whine?
$1200 + shipping for a Stage 2 WBS intercooler... $500 plus a lot of crack? Maybe.
im all for the innovation in this setup....while i agree with some, and less with others. it is wat it is. he did it, it works. great. the turbo under 350hp comment was alittle derivative but so be it.. its someones opinion. good job flake, im glad its working for ya.
The prices you paid for the TVS etc weren't new retail prices either.
IC stuff from Nate Herbst. Funny part is the post was pretty old and I took a chance and made an offer.
2003 SSEI is the SN of the guy I got the 1.8 brand new HS rockers from.
Fubar aka guy from Mass is the guy I got the heads from. Stage 3's ported by PRJ.
Lots of folks know that Intense sold the HS rockers as their own and there were some problems with at least one batch of the pedestals. I bought a set from Intense that was bad for $30. Sent them to HS to be fixed (free) and then traded those refurbed 1.9's to my buddy for his brand new set of HS 1.8's.
My cost $30
Before I picked up my Regal, I thought I may go turbo and it was when Intense had gone under new management and was moving between buildings. I made a deal to buy the rest of the rockers they had on hand. 7 Sets... I kept one set for myself and sold the rest to cover the cost of my set. I sold the needing to be refurbished at a cost of $70 per set shipped.
FWIW I still have a zip lock bag full of extra pedestals...HIXC here was happy I did because one of his was missing.
Call me an opportunist.
How do you call a cam, headers, N*, 2.8 pullied motor just a cam-only motor, even "for short"?
You say nothing of relevance changed between 299 on the gen v and 350 on the TVS, but you changed injectors and a fuel pump. If you were out flowing the injectors AND pump on the TVS, how were you not on the Gen v?
What does your 350WHP Street Tune have for timing?
Was E-60 used on both gen V and TVS dynos?
Edit: How many PSI were you seeing on each S/C?

They are?
Skip my first question, because its not as much a question of the build, more a question of character.
As to the fuel injector/ pump situation, all you say is that you "immediately found out that I was going to need more fuel." This doesn't say if you were out of injector before hand, or what fuel you were running. If you did the TVS swap and the "E-60" swap at the same time, all this "TVS only" crap, isn't.
I guess this leaves my timing question to be answered with "The cusp of what it could handle"...
I like how straightforward you are with what you're trying to stand so strongly behind, and you wonder why no one believes you.
All of your questions are answered. You just can't read apparently. You even quote the answer to a question that you pose in the same sentence.
Flake, Any thought of doing a writeup? You said at some point that you were doing all this to help other people out and give them another option. There is tons of information in your threads, but it gets lost in the BS. Any chance of doing a writeup of picture and the basics, but nix the BS, and make it widely available for people who don't feel like sifting through 10 threads on 3 different forums?
*sigh*
