i said i would post some pics after i did this only one problem, someone(i assume the previous owner) has already been there and taking care of it. besides a little dirt, there is no rust and it looks good

I did this a couple weeks ago. Mine wasn't too bad. There was a bit of paint scraped away around the holes but there was no rust at all. Some touchup paint and I was good to go.
To make the spoiler sit higher could I double stack the washers?
absolutely... u can stack as many as u wish, or find another item that would be wider than the washers... as long as the bolts can thread into the spoiler then u can raise it as high as u want!!!
Today I clean under the spoiler wasn't too bad but there was a lot of pine neddles and dirt but i didnt realize the bolts and the nuts stayed together and about the double washer thing i asked on 4-30 it didnt work the bolts wouldnt thread. it still looks stock but water slides through easlier. thanks for the write up, oh yah you think its alright if i didnt use silicon all i did was un screw the bolts/nuts took off the spoiler washed/waxed took some clear tape off cleaned out the holes put the hose washers over the holes on top of the trunk then put the bolts/nuts in sound good?
i would def pull the spoiler and silicone, or at least silicone it from under the trunk lid (inside the trunk) just silicone the bolts well to the trunk lid, otherwise u will prolly end up with water in ur trunk
-Your sayin i should pop the trunk then silicone around the bolts and on the metal washer
-in the future would i be able to pull off the spoiler?
-does silicone do anything to the paint?
yea if u dont wanna take the spoiler back off, just silicone around the bolts and washer to seal that from water... yes u would be able to remove the spoiler later, the silicone will peel off... and it shouldnt hurt the paint when removing... it is kinda like peelin dried rubber cement from the little bottle it comes in.. if that makes sense
Thanks!
I am going to do this to my GT this weekend. I will take pics, hopefully not tooooo much damage, I like to wash my car...... errr I am obsessed with washing my car.
Pride is Priceless
Where generally do you need to apply some paint? I have some paint from an Autobody that is color coded. I do have some sun fading, will this have any affect?
Just use two to three washers on each bolt? or just on the outside botls?
it is best to use paint to keep any further damage from happening... and i would use them on all bolts... raise the spoiler in all spots for best drainage.... post pics for sure!!!!!!!
Well I did it. Not done, but I know what all needs to be done. It was not that bad underneath there. I will have to use a little paint underneath. Here are the pictures in step format. I used the garden hose washers and used two on each. I used some super glue in between the two washers and then a little on the bolts. The only difficult part that I encountered is tightening the bolts to tight and losening the bolt from the spoiler. I will be using a little epoxy and putting that in the hole and then tightening the bolt the best I can. Here are the pics.

I used the super glue to attach the two washers and then a little and the bottom of the washer so it would stay put while I put the spoiler on.
I washed the car today and to see if it leaked, I attached a piece of paper towel on each bolt and taped that to the underside of the trunk. NO WATER, YET.......
i want to do this to my 99 GTP now doesnt seem that hard to do.. what if i got like a inch or 1 and a 1/2 spacers would that work? idk with it raised a bit more then normal may look cooler idk. what do youll think.????.
