4awg is good because it will allow your system to grow. Use the same size or larger for any grounding. Grounding--make certain you have good surface contact and LOTS of it.
You only need 16awg wire at best for your subs. Don't worry about getting pulled into high end wire all over the place...as long as it's copper and is well insulated so that they don't damage easily. RCA's are the same way. There isn't enough EMI present in vehicles to worry about balanced inputs and noise cancellation. Who cares about 90 degree twists and blah blah blah...just don't run it next to power wire and you're fine. Also, nickel plated is nice to prevent corrosion. That's also a very good reason to solder everything. That's really the only deterrent to quality...corrosion. Install is more important hardware. Frequent my sig links and they'll lead you to lots of information you'll probably never need
Turn on wire can be 20awg but be careful about lengths. If you ever turn on more than one item you probably want it hooked to a relay.
