If youve seen so many others do this then why wouldnt it work? Because some "mechanic" said it wouldnt and apparently doesnt know much about the 3800. The interchangeability of these engines is huge not to mention a way way bigger aftermarket than the average grandprix/impala/monte carlo/regal ect. owner has any clue about should be a good suggestion that a "top swap" can and WILL work throw that mechanics comment out the window in short he's very WRONG.
