It's still hard to find a good mechanic. Some think they know more than they do. Some are parts changers, others are inept. It seems like the radio of good to bad is like 1:6. I'm not saying you're a bad mechanic, but I'm sure you see the same thing.

new lugs, 3/4" are $20 shipped liftime chrome guarantee on ebay for all wheels.

never had a problem with discount tire, they put the rubber on my bullitts, wheels came back shiny and I didnt even have to tell them to put the weights on the inside, did the box truck to, but one of the "new" guys was confused because the truck has metal rings the lugs go over, he had no clue how it went on or what it did but knew it came off LOL. He has 3 people over his shoulder watching him to make sure he didnt fck it up as with me looking out the window.

Went to NTB today for the first time ever because the box truck blew the tire at 55mph and that was the closest drive since the women was my "tow truck". I walked out 15min later with a new tire balanced and all while they were backed up with work A+ service for this guy. You guys that get "taken" or "idiots working on car" need a testosterone shot or some scruff on your face and walk with a manly strut because never in my life have I ever been "taken" or my cars "****ed" with. The women can hold her own too, she pissed off a advance auto store manager and she was only there to pick up a rotor LOL

oh and ps, nobody touches my car ever, I free wheel that ****

Yeah I see the same stuff all the time.

It's even better when the customer says they have never been to your store yet either, and then they say it's our fault something went down. I will take the blame for taking your tires off because you asked me too, but the fact is is that they came off cross threaded or fudged up and thats something I couldn't forsee.

I'm curious how often that happens.

From working as a mechanic for 1.5 years, I really have never seen a true cross threaded stud. My boss may have replaced one or two in that time though. It just doesn't really happen. I start the lug nuts with the impact gun on the nut, but I use my hands on the socket to start it.

Maybe my googlefoo is failing me, but I can't seem to find this deal anywhere. I really want to get new lugnuts because mine all have surface rust and look like ass.

    THIS

Except body guy long time not mech. Never had a stripped stud on one of my rides or my jobs. But there are some real Lulus out there with tool truck impacts and not a care in the world. You do have to watch out on tire service around here but the alignment guys I've met are all pretty good at it IMO.

ive seen a few truly cross threaded studs, because they think they are in a NASCAR pit crew and don't even start them by hand. I had our company truck in and watched as the guy did this, by the time I said something . He couldn't get one of them seated all the way it was so jacked.

    FFDP,

when end I worked for a shop installing audio and accessories we always had people come in with a rats nest of crap and blame us for something that doesn't work but did when they brought it in. Can't tell you how many times I had to argue that it didn't work and there was no way. I think some of them are just trying to get something for free. I had a customer blame me for a dent when I was demonstrating an alarm after installation and my manager and owner were standing there when I showed it. It was a Quest minivan and we figured the kid was showing his friends and did it. We had a body shop next door and he used a 2X4 put it on the corner and popped it out.

i hated that so I quit and opened up my own shop and only did custom alarms and stereo systems.

That ad says nothing of lifetime warranty. I found those guys in my search, but you said lifetime warranty so I moved along.

$14 isn't bad, I just don't want them to look exactly like what I have now in 3 months.
