Yeah.. seems like a harness swap will be easier for you.

You can't use that GTP pcm w/o it being tuned for a top swap though.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Does it need to be changed in the dash also.

An untuned 97 gtp pcm will work fine if he puts a 2bar map sensor on it.

Tim.. I changed your post ^^^^, because you'll need to have more questions.

Does what need to be changed in the dash? There's no change to anything in the dash for the drivetrain swap.

DH, timing won't be too high on a low compression tune, or does the 2 bar offset that. I've never really gotten into the different bars of maps to fully understand it.

I mean I probably would suggest running less timing I guess but not really required in an ideal world.

Miles are almost irrelevant if it was maintained properly and he didn't beat on it like a tard.

If his price is low enough buy the whole car, yank the harness, part the rest out, and probably make a fair chunk of money on the deal.

The Olds in my sig? I bought it for $400 on craigslist. Only thing it needs is a rear 02 sensor and air needs charged.

On the map plug thing, just cut splice and done. No need to deal with zzp if you dont have to
