Now your a certified mechanic.. Just the other day your parents wouldn't allow you to mod the car.. And based off the dozen of threads you make... Mechanic you are not.
So you say. Lets try to keep this thread half way cleaned up and not full of ****ty remarks.
Thank you.
I am topswapping my car and would like alittle help on what to do about kr. So thanks. Nothing else
Grow a pair...
Plus there's countless thread in reference to this..search damn it!
Oh I have been all night. My app is garbage barely searches it. Whats better. Headers or rockers?
But if I do rockers im gonna wanna do valve springs and valves and retainers and keepers and guides and ya ahha
intercooler
If you want to topswap, I would personally cam it while I had everything apart. Cam and LS7 springs. I think a few members were discussing using LS7 springs since they are cheaper and easier on the timing chain and just as effective if not spinning the engine above 6k rpms.
Get a new stock timing chain and dampner, LS7 springs, steel Manley retainers, valve seals, then all the gaskets and pulleys and belt. I would probably also get a 4.0" S/C pulley and a modular pulley system so you can eventually drop pulleys easily
Turbo
/end thread
If you can not afford all the parts at this moment, save up. Meanwhile clean/check the parts you will be getting. This way if you want to paint/research etc etc, it gives you more time.
It is much easier to put in a slide the rear set of headers in with the head off. Plus, you'd end up redoing stuff 2-3 times if you do it in different rounds than all at once. To save money.. it's wiser to do it all at once. I believe I had one of the most expensive builds going. Each part I got was my last and I probably put on 15 different LIM gaskets etc lol.
While I find it impossible to believe your heads are leaking oil, Let's not talk about that or go there. Merely a point of mention.
I have watched them drip oil at idle. But this is not the thread. I plan to get all the parts I need cleaned and painted before hand and pull the engine and tranny and change the tranny along with topswap it all while the engines out. At this time I am not gonna do a cam. Once I get my money in order I will see what I can do. Like I have said. I am not looking to do a high powered setup at the moment. Just a stock type setup.
For everything?
In decent shape?
