stock, you should see somewhere around 6 pounds of boost. the gauge on the DIC is worthless.

you can find the autolite 104s at autozone/advance auto/etc. cheap plugs.

im not really sure on comparable plugs. i was told to stick with copper plugs, so i went with autolites because they are cheap and easy to find.

they do? havent popped my stock GT trans yet.

i think you all just need to learn how to treat your transmission right.

When you are trying to get plugs at autozone are you telling them it is for a Gp, if so the autolite 104's might not come up on the computer. I think they had that problem at first for mine. Just tell them the plug and not the car.

HAHA. yeah they suck, when i was working at the dealership, i was replacing GM trannies damn near daily ( at least 4 a week) no there not as bad as i claim, but i did see a few too many fail to soon in the vehicles life, like right out of warranty soon! and that was often. hell my 1997 gtx had almost 200,000 miles (stock tranny) before it dumped on me, but i do tranny services almost as frequent as an oil change because im nervous around them after all that ive seen go wrong with them so quickly. it is all about maintenance, however when you building the engine for power it doesnt hurt to build the tranny to support it, thats all im saying, when you start modding, keep in mind and consider the rest of the car so everything works strong together

Ok changed the spark plugs and wires, and WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!. Now its running right pulls hard through all gears, Cant believe mid 14s to low 15s is all they run, I had a 89 probe Gt that ran 14.9 fastest time 15.0 15.1 normally. This car feels WAY stronger and WAY faster but we will have to see, Thank you all for your help, Current Mods, AL104s

with the pcm upgrade, you should push your performance shifting button and the upgrade will do everything for you. I just started modding my 98 gtp and im doing the full exhaust (headers/ cat/ downpipe/ ect.) first just to open everything up and 180 them. and better plugs. After that im doing the pcm upgrade, ignition set up, 3.0 pulley and all that good stuff. I think this would be the safest way to go.

welcome. Before you start modding I suggest you read up on a lot of stuff. Learn about our engine and it's history. A lot of interesting stuff and developments. Everyone on here is willing to help, and it's fun to jump right in and throw a lot of stuff on your car, however it agitates many if you do it wrong. It's your car and you can risk what you want, but if you go throwing a smaller pulley on your car without the supporting mods you're gonna blow it, and in turn it could get the GP a bad rep it doesn't deserve. People that don't drive our cars talk bad about their reliability, and how they break easily, but a lot of those people are former GP owners that didn't mod right, or their friends who witnessed it and don't know their friend is an idiot. Good luck though, and welcome aboard. Everyone here is very nice, helpful, and for the most part informative.

i had a pro charged SRT4 so i know a little bit about forced induction and i sold it because it had a ton of miles on it and i liked GTPs. Ive done my research and already started modding mine. IF you dont think a 180 thermostat, wires, plugs, rockers, headers, downpipe, pcm upgrade, and an intake system isnt enough, please let me know. According to other members when i asked this question they said that it should be enough.

not on a 3.0. i have about what you have and i can maybe run a 3.2.

have you scanned for knock lately? youve probably got some and with how much boost your making with a 3.0 any knock at all isnt good.
