For those who plan on attending Carlisle GM Nationals, please read the following:
The show starts on Saturday. I know some show up Friday to park the car and walk around. I believe Friday is mostly the swap meet for those selling parts and sometimes they do drag racing Friday night at a local strip. By the time I roll into town, I think racing will be out (plus I'd rather not do burnouts in my clean car)
We should try to get into the show on Saturday as early as possible. We can caravan to the entrance and we'll pick up our show cards and goodies bags upon check in. Then, you will be directed to drive into the fairgrounds from their we'll all get the cars lined up or possibly make some sort of pattern once we show up. I have a 10x10 E-Z Up Shelter that I brought last time that I will bring once again. If anyone else has a shelter, PLEASE BRING IT WITH YOU!! We can put them together for some shade.
They do have food and drinks available for sale in the grounds but it's not always cheap. I WOULD ADVISE EVERYONE TO BRING A COOLER WITH DRINKS IN IT OR GET WITH SOMEONE AND PLAN ON WHO WILL BRING DRINKS AND WHO WILL BRING A COOLER! IT DOES GET HOT OUT THERE!
Judging is participant ballot, meaning that you will be given a check list with all of the classes on the "Show/Fun Field" to judge. THIS IS NOT A PROFESSIONALLY JUDGED SHOW! The only groups who are pro-judged are mostly the Camaro/Firebird Groups. Judging typically starts around 12pm and ballots must be submitted by 4pm.
The last few times I went to Carlisle, Axcelerated Motorsports has been there with an SAE DYNOJET which fortunately was right next to the GPs last year. I believe it was $75-$80 for 3 pulls, which I know is a little pricey but, hell, I'm doing it again because I have more mods than last time. They will give you a print out with your HP/TQ curve and a complete breakdown of your best run.
Saturday Night, they will do the Miss Carlisle GM Nationals Bikini Contest and the Burnout Competition.
Sunday Morning, we report just like Saturday morning. Inside the grounds will be the Winner's List. Early Sunday afternoon, they will do a parade for the class winners and they will do pictures of the winner receiving their plaque from Miss Carlisle GM. Plaques will be awarded for First, Second, and Third Place. After all that is done, We can probably all do late lunch/early dinner somewhere then head on back from that point.
Also, professional photos will be taken of all cars on the field and will be available for purchase inside one of the pavilions.
As far as the hotel information, Matt Sunner (Injun #4) has posted all of the information regarding room sizes, rates, contact info, and address. If you plan on staying at the hotel, please make it known so we can coordinate events and arrive times accordingly.
At the present time, we have 8 Grand Prixs preregistered for the event and have hotel rooms booked already. We currently have 2 GPs coming from New York, 2 GPs coming from North Carolina, 2 in Pennsylvania and 1 from Delaware. So, it's a pretty sure thing you can find someone who will caravan with you.
There is a list of registered cars on ClubGP in the Shows and Events section, which I will copy and keep updated for GrandPrixForums.net. Once you have preregistered with Carlisle, please notify me so we can keep the lists up to date on both sites.
