I reserved our room a few days ago. We will be arriving Wednesday night sometime (Sept 3) and checking out and heading home Sunday (Sept 7). We too wanted an extra day to check out Branson and relax and still probably won't have time for it all. Maybe get some good pics in as a bonus. Hopefully I'm minus my near hood ornament Motel 9 manager this year (Why you mad?).

Curious about the online check-in too. I prefer talking to a person and getting it done and confirmed in a few minutes. Also gives me someone to blame for any problems. Not to mention any special requests. 2007 was our first year, but they were very accomodating and even helped us out when our reservation was off by a day and we were gonna be hours late due to an accident in St. Louis that we got stuck waiting for.

    reptile -

Not sure yet. I did the online thing yesterday and after I filled it out, it said somebody would call me within 7 days to confirm. I just checked voicemail at the house, and there is nothing there yet, and I dont have any new voicemail at work yet either. I would imagine they arent in a huge rush since the rooms arent for until September.

LowlyfeGTP makes a good point about being able to actually talk to somebody though. If I dont hear back from them by thursday, I will call and see what the situation is.

Dont worry about that Justin, we have alot of stock guys and gals too. The last leg of the road is full of hills and turns, so you really cant go that fast, but even as SE can get going fast enough to have some fun.

LOL Yeah I was the crazy one taking the picture at 172, Farns was actually pulling away from me much faster than that! j/k it was 72 and another member ps'd it to 172, then someone else ps'd it to 1.21 Ghz, any one still have that picture?

That's what I get for knowing the cars and not the people's faces. Was looking for the GP not the TL and was so busy/distracted that I never got to talk to him (or quite a few members) or get my fenders rolled.
Shoot, sorry I didn't track you down then, I just assumed you had changed your mind about the fenders, and no one else asked so I never got the tool out. If you can make it another 8 months I'll either bring it or sent it with Farns if I don't make it.

No problem, luckily it was raining. With all the parts, luggage and people in my car they were rubbing pretty good. Under normal circumstances around here I don't have too many issues (in storage til spring anyways). I had talked to you a bit on CGP and it was a good thing offering your services for charity. Sorry, I was going in too many directions. I thought you weren't able to make it until Farns said you had been there and as soon as he said that I was like, "It was the TL wasn't it?" Not sure what all I'll have done by BGPM08. Big hopes, but see what actually comes through. Hope to see you there and thanks for the offer if I do need it.

    Got my room booked.

I just called the hotel, the office was closed so I left a message to call me back. About 30 minutes/hour later they called, and now I'm all set.

I know what you guys mean, I too prefer a more one on one personal response when booking a room, just to make sure its done correctly, and I didn't mess things up when making the reservations.

So, I'm set, now just save back some ends to pay for the event its self when that opens up. I plan to pay for that the day it opens, in hopes they have a "first to register get somehting cool" thing again this year.

I'm with you on that! I registered at the very last second of the reduced pricing last year once I got the final ok that I was for sure able to go. Yep, that's just one of the coming excitement stages. Hit registration and half way there! I just have a feeling there might be some earlier sign ups this year (and more of them).

Some chick from that place called our house today and left a message saying everything was set up, and she left a confirmation number.

She also left me her cell number. no joke.

$204 for the 4 nights. What a great deal. I've paid more than that for ONE night at a hotel in Chicago.

If I recall correctly that was probably the gal running the place last year with the beard and corn chip toe nails.

I might kid about a lot of things but a beared lady with corn chip toe nails sticking out of her too-small-to-hold-them-in scandals...I don't think so.

Im reservated too! Had to put in a request for a fridge also so I know I can have one, it was on the fence when I asked last year as they thought they were all out. We plan to go later on Weds and have all thrusday through sat and then leave on sunday. I requested a similar room on first floor that we had last year. Hopefully we book the place so we can hang out up front again instead of make too much noise for the elderly convention lol

If everyone that thinks they may go will go ahead and reserve a room, then there will be no room left at the inn for any other groups....The sooner we get them reserved, but better chance we have of having the place all to ourselves.
