FUNNY how people hate on the platform that they have had multiple cars in, BUT Its more about meeting people, Who cares if there are stock cars or theres a bunch of the same color or their is a ton of Grand Prixs or Monte Carlos? When you have been in the scene long enough its nice to meet a bunch of people with the same passion,
But its everyone's choice to go or not to go thats why its Called AMERICA![]()
Hope you are able to get a bunch of people for this to make it work out for GPF section
Darryl
BTW it really has been a GREAT time for the first 3 years....
Soo should we bring bottled water ?
it'll be a buncha bloviating prix standing around, come for the heckling of it!
if i were really in the situation what i wanted to meet and hang with more of you it'd be a different story, but the fact of the matter is that i've got 10 years on most of you and i'm not remotely interested in the cars. i'd be there for the drinking and time away from my family. there's not enough incentive to really make me want to go.
If I can get my craptub running reliably I want to go, but its a 50/50 between ill be driving it in june, or itll be making beer cans
I'll add my thoughts here.
I'm pretty over the whole WBody thing myself. But, I go to the Detroit meet EVERY year. Why? Cause I love seeing all them 3800 cars? No. It's because I enjoy hanging out for 3~ days with people I see one weekend a year. I enjoy the atmosphere in the hotel parking lot on Friday night. And most importantly. I enjoy Saturday night on Woodward. And until those of you who would like to claim automotion as being the end all to the car world actually GO to Woodward, I will leave it at you have NO CLUE what you are missing out on.
Lol why did this turn into "list your reasons you don't/cannot attend the meet" thread ?
This is a who is going post I don't care who isn't and why there not.
Meh... I will be there.. But not sure if my car will be there..... Regardless, anyone who WANTS to find me, doesnt have to look too hard.
I would like to go just to watch the Hinson/Yates cars run 12's. But, they don't even race at the meet, do they?
If they rented a track like the old days, I would love to come. But, I really have no desire to travel that far to look at a bunch of parked cars; the same cars at a car show that I see on the streets everyday. That, and Darryl is a pretty big douche.
