Nice find. Why do you want USB 3? Its really only useful if you are streaming HQ video or transferring large files. I think it provides a little more power to accessories too, but for most uses its not necessary.

I'd like to see a Win8 head unit. Would be way cool to have uvscan running and be able to read logs and flash tunes right from the radio.

It didn't have to be 3.0,I'm happy with a full size usb port

I finally got the device I linked earlier and tried it out today. it downloaded the tune, but gives an error that I can't edit the tune, and a message appears that I need to email it to hp tuners with a log file. it also won't connect for scanning, so I may be sending it back for a refund, unless I can get it working.

scanner plugs into the full size usb. Im going to try uninstalling and reinstalling hp tuners after the updates are done.

so the tablet just needed windows updates. after installing the windows updates and reinstalling hp tuners, it is working. I did get one error message, but it was a different one, and I was able to download the tune without the previous error. the scanner connected and took a scan.

Still loving it. I use my PC to make changes in the tune, then email it to myself (on the tablet) to write the tune to the car.

Then I do the opposite for the log files. I scan exclusively with the tablet, then email the log to myself to view on the PC.

The tablet is just too small to do any serious editing. It's a trade off. The screen size is a hassle, but it's super convenient. I literally just leave it plus the HP tuners interface in the glove box all the time.

I use a mouse and a keyboard to change the tune when Im using the tablet. I like the convenience. the battery lasts a lot longer than my laptop battery, so I can take scans over longer drives if I feel like it. only thing that is less desireable is that it takes the hp tuner scanner a minute to open, so I just try to have it opened before I go to the car.

I've boon looking at this guy:

    http://www.amazon.com/QQ-Tech-Blueto.../dp/B00BALK9CM

It's true that the tablet does run a little slower, but for $80 shipped that's a sacrifice I was willing to make. Plus, like you said, the battery life is great. I've flashed a half a dozen tunes over the course of a couple months, and just last night plugged it in to charge. Even then it still had 50% left.

I know it's been a while, and sorry to revive a zombie thread, but I never did do this although I wanted to. So looking for a long term review, are you guys still using this? Have you upgraded anything? Any issues with HPT updates?

its either i go small like this or just invest in a Laptop mount for the front passenger side... My laptop is a 2001 Dell, lol, but it still rocks! Only thing is it's huge, and heavy, lol.

    Anyways, thanks for your thoughts...
