I have a 97 GTP and I'm trying to do some tuning. I'm using HP tuners and I don't understand why it says my timing is always negative. The gauges, charts, and histogram all say negative. Whether I'm cruising or wot.
Why?

Why?
So the vales are correct they just read in the negative?
Also why is it telling me at WOT running at 140kpa?? That's like 19psi
Without knowing your mods..either you have a serious pressure issue or you have a bad sensor
I'm running 9-10 psi on my autometer gauge. Def not 18 psi.
Does the 97 read funky on that too?
Anything above 100kpa is boost. Anything below is still vacuum. The sensor reads absolute pressure, not a pressure difference like a gauge does.
Easiest way to figure out how much boost you are running is just subtract 140-100=40. 40kpa is how Mich boost you actually have. Just remember, from the map, anything over 100kpa is boost, and anything under is vac.
Ok got it. I just found that same thing on Wikipedia GTPpower. Thanks.
It said subtract 100 kPA and that is your number
100kpa is only considered vacum with perfect atmospheric conditions and sea level elevation. Like for me in arizona after 86kpa id be in boost at my elevation and avg barometer readings.
