even my desk top pc im using for the off board, i had to hook it up to the obd2 port, have a pcm plugged in, and power to it. went through on the second try on the desktop pc. only cause i knew how to do it once, so it was easy the second time. it is possible the cable is bad, im sure you can test it with a ohm meter. maybe the pins are dirty? try cleaning them with elctrical parts cleaner maybe? dab of di electrical grease on the plug, work it in good by taking the plug off and on a few times.

Does anyone know how to test the DHP to see if it works or is getting power?

If I got it and it never worked I'd say **** I got a bad tuner BUT it worked and then a hour later had issues with the driver and it never worked again

try swapping the cables with your friends, see if then registers to your laptop. or try to register his to your laptop. if his working unit wont register, its your lap top or its setting.

I don't have any friends with a DHP, the only person local to me is dark horse, but it doesn't look like he's interested in helping.

Here's a pic of my tuner. Anybody have any info on it? Doesn't look like the led is even hooked up to anything. Any thoughts on what software version I need to use or does it matter?

I tested both cables. Using an ohm meter I tested for continuity 1-10 on the serial cable. It had an even amount of resistance on each

sounds like its in the set up not being set up right in one last spot. or a driver thats not jiving.

Then testing the obd cable I found these results:

    2:2, 4:4, 5:5, 6:6, 7:7, 10:10, 13:15, 14:13, 15:14

    I didn't find any continuity on pins: 1,3, 8, 9, 11 or 12

The numbers to the left of the colon correspond to the cable on the right in the pic and vice versa. Do they sound correct?

what about the box itself or the obd cable? Can you confirm my obd cable checks how it should?

Yea I tried them both. I'm starting to think my unit is defective. Darkhorizon is suppose to help me diagnose the problem. I'll let you know
