Ok, trying something not sure it will work. Have a buddy swapping a l67 into a 2000 monte carlo. I did a tune to get all the l67 stuff onto a L36 bin from a monte. It all worked but I cannot change the vin on the pcm I am trying to flash. PCM is from a GP so not sure if that is the issue it maybe. I changed the VIN in TT and it shows up in the file. But when I flash it, it still shows up with the PCM vin. VIN changing in DHP does not take either, Using VIN from File does not work either. Also, used HEX editor to change the serial from the GP PCM and VIN to the monte no luck when flashing... Trying to save time and not have me send me his PCM but may just have to. Montes need the VIN in the PCM to match the BCM for security so this is needed. I also had a spare 99 Monte PCM I tried same thing. Not to familiar with montes so probably just need his PCM to flash but any insight will be helpful.

    Thanks!

if your working with the cars original pcm the vin should keep stored in the pcm. if using another pcm to tune on the new vin wont take if its the same as them 01 up gp pcm's

not sure what pcm part # your using, but the 01 up's have a issue where you just cant change it. you'll end up bricking the pcm if you try long enough.

the cars na pcm will work if your not using it. and the cars vin is stored in it, use use pcm vin when flashing. left side drop box in the flash window.
