That's what I heard everybody uses is the 160, right?
I'm on a 2.8 pulley and I run a 180*. 160 is way too cold for a near stock setup.

Huh Ok. But still need a tune
it doesnt really run @ 160 it runs like 175 or 185, but if the 160 could cause damage to the engine then i will. but i need a tune for my other stuff i have, going to, put on
Don't need a tune for some exhaust and an intake.
If you really want to run the colder t-stat, then yes, you'd need a tune to change your fan settings, but that's about it.
what would you tune if you were going to get one for these mods? just curious.
I've tuned bone stock cars and picked up a half second in the 1/4 mile.
Just got the cars to stop knocking, then from there raised the shift points a little and had the trans shift firmer/faster.
One guy in a Regal GS was running 15.1-15.2 all day and I talked him into a tune right there at the track... next pass was 14.5.
Yeah a tune can defiantly help, but if you don't have constant access to a tuner then tuning at every small change is kinda pointless. If you plan on going further in your build, wait until you drop a pulley, get a cam or something that really changed how the motor flows.
Tune helps on any car, regardless of mods.
Trade off the 160* for a 180*.
Get new wires/plugs if you haven't. Flip the factory mounts.
Lots of little things you can do to help the car.
