Re: Power tuner issue...basic problem or my own stupidity?!
I've Installed them everyday for years. With that being said on our vehicle the module that does security bypass and locks is attached to the data line. I have never personally seen this module cause any interference problems. Especially when writing with hpt. It uses the data line to relay the message for locks or bypass but isn't continously "talking" on the data line.
While something like the aeroforce gauge is always monitoring through data I have seen it cause communication issues (writing w/hpt as well)
And to answer your other question you are writing to the PCM not the BCM. The PCM controls powertrain functions ex. Fans

It would also be likely it's attached (not in line, there'd be no reason for that) to the data line at the obd2 port. The data line is a single wire attached to every module

Re: Power tuner issue...basic problem or my own stupidity?!
I guess I'll write up my step by step and include screen shots and bins as suggested earlier. As of now I'm just plain frustrated. I'll have it up tomorrow most likely.
Thanks again for the feedback.
Re: Power tuner issue...basic problem or my own stupidity?!
Sooooo, I end up trying one last thing. I change the true/false setting on the "data setting" for my fan and pow! It's working!
Is this just a weird occurance or did I possibly have a aftermarket cooling fan set and just not notice. It looks OEM. Anyways, is it bad to change the "series II data" setting for my fans? Should I move on or should I look for a bigger issue?
Re: Power tuner issue...basic problem or my own stupidity?!
Here is my bin. The fan is working but.....the autostart and power locks/trunk is no longer working. Any ideas or thoughts?
