Re: Why is there still KR?
ok i think i got it...to get rid of all tm do this...on the tr 1-2 2-3 3-4 performance upshift....stock values should be somewhere around 340...change that to 640 or as high as it will allow....leave the ''normal'' setting alone and just change the performance. These changes will only take affect when the performance button is pressed on the shifter...when on normal, settings will remain stock. If the car has no performance shift button...then do the same but just on the ''normal'' setting.
Also max out ''max engine torqe for upshift''
hmmm....max turbine tq tcc locked and unocked...may want to ask someone else on this one....if it were me just max out ''max turbine tq tcc unlocked''
Other wise you will more than likely get a lot of kr when you get into the throttle while the tcc is locked if you up the max tq values.

Re: Why is there still KR?
the PT TM upshift files are just percentages (if that makes sense). They are already lowered to 5%. In other words they will only derate the torque by 5%.

Also, upping the max torque when turbine locked will rid you of some part throttle KR (since the PCM is trying to limit the torque when TCC is locked, and that is usually where the cruising part throttle KR comes from).

are you sure that if you lower the percentage that it is not making the tm lower also...in other words you may be putting more tm on instead of removing it.
higher numbers in hpt mean less tm...try raising them and see how high it will let you go.
also there should be a spark retard amount for the torque reduction % or something related to how much spark is being pulled to reach the set torque reduction amount.
check under the spark tab...or gimme a screen shot....where is brian when i need him lol...he uses dhp also
Re: Why is there still KR?
I think that in PT it is like it pulls 5% of the power at the shifts.
You have 2 different TM tables that you need to look at. one of them is in the spark settings, the rest is in the transmission setttings. I have my max turbine torque settings at 800....but that's because I don't really care about my TM issues, I'm all about the speed, I can pretty much fix anything that breaks. But I wouldn't recommend doing this to any car.
Sorry, I'm tired, and I just kind of skimmed through the thread. TM isn't all bad....I was just saying that it will register as KR, nothing wrong with that once you eliminate the usual suspects.
Re: Why is there still KR?
TDC I am working on getting you some screen shots. I do understand what you are talking about.

There the hell you are!!!!

take ur time i should be here....the main thing i need to know is how the tm settings work...or how the % affect the reduction or addition of tm...but i think brian probably has that down packed....
tell me what the stock settings are for the max turbine tq tcc locked and unlocked...if it is lower than 800 then you raise those values to get rid of tm...if it is higher then you lower those values...im going off of what brian has said
Re: Why is there still KR?
Re: Why is there still KR?
should be amount of tq that is allowed while brakes are engaged...hpt does not have this...not to my knowledge anyway
thats the only thing that makes sense to me
shoot now that i look at it...if it were for that it seems the values should all be the same...not increasing....
Re: Why is there still KR?
on the s/s you provided...did you alter any of the tables? if not did someone else?

Kind of what I thought but PT tables are hard to understand sometimes. I completely understand how to tune, what I have trouble with is figuring out the table descriptions.
Here is the description from the tm up shift table
Percentage of total torque reduction for 1-2 upshiftusing Performance pressure pattern
So in other words it is set to 5 right now, it will only reduce torque by 5%.
Re: Why is there still KR?
Re: Why is there still KR?
got another screen shot coming, I think this is the table we need to mess with.
Re: Why is there still KR?
Re: Why is there still KR?
on the max tq upshift table the one you have a s/s of...on the stock bin file...were the numbers increasing from low rpm to high or the other way around? or were they all the same?
i belive they should have more tm applied in the lower rpm ranges....
im just trying to figure out what these numbers mean.
Re: Why is there still KR?
yea i saw it in the last screen shot....that is one for sure but anwser my lasty question above...by the way the tq abuse spark retard table looks good...zeroed out means no spark is beaing puled

Are you talking about the last table I gave a screen shot of? If so that is the stock table.
