This comes from Eddie Blattner(GTPAddict) on the other site:

The Tiny Tuner - Binary Editor

Here ya go, I finally got the OK to release this. The people listed in this email have been helping to add tables in the database. There is no real documentation on this software, but I did make a web page about a year ago that explains most of it. I will be updating this page in the next few days to reflect the changes over the past year.

    The Tiny Tuner

This program is the result of many hours sitting in front of a computer looking for tables and such to improve our tuning ability. I could not have done this without the help or GTPRedfire, bilemke, Perforator, and Zalfrin. Be sure to thank them as well if you decide to use this program and feel it's worth the time it took to develop it.

Be sure to read the 'Read Me First' text file located in the archive to set up the database and such.

This software, source code, and database are yours to use without limitation. I do not express or imply any warrenty of any kind, this is yours to use at your own risk.

    Requires .Net 2.0

*** UPDATE 11-23-10 New updated database for tiny tuner - http://www.theblattners.com/projects...r/Default.html

    TinyTuner_PublicRelease_11-25-09.rar

Useful tool to extract the .rar file:
    http://download.cnet.com/3001-20_4-1...6108aafd25d426

    Notes:
*When you first open the program, you must go to OPTIONS>SELECT DATABASE and select TinyTuner_DB.mdb
*This program is an editor, with more tables to edit than powrtuner and hptuners. It is however, not a writer, you must still have something to flash the pcm with (the hardware and powrtuner or hptuners).

I think Eddie just uses .bin files. Only uses hptuners for writing and scanning. So you need to get a .bin file for your car, then open in tiny tuner and change and save. Hptuners should then read and write .bin files.

I'll have to play around with it as soon as I find myself a .bin. (Is now searching for a '97 .bin file...)

Hey I extracted the rar file with WinRAR to My documents and then I opend the Tiny Tuner program and clicked on select database but when i went to find Tiny Tuner_DB.mdb it only shows up as Tiny Tuner_DB and I selected that to see if it would work so after I loaded my bin file it still came up DLL. Would you know why it's doing this? Before I didn't have any supporting programs to open a .mdb file so I downloaded microsoft office and that still didn't help.

Options>"Use Database when Available" and re-open bin

MDB file needs Microsoft Access (most of the basic copies of MS Office only have Word, PowerPoint and Excel.... not Access)..

so where should i go to get a 05 Grand Prix GTP .bin for my 06 GT? prefer not to have to go through the dealer if i can do it myself w/ hp tuners.

Edit - Also could this be used to change the values that make the gas gauges go backwards when tuning an 06+?

Thank you, this is the best program ever! Only issue I have, okay so I downloaded a BIN file using a friend's AWESOME (LOVE IT) Tuner Cats OBDII which saves in BIN format, edited the tables I wanted with tiny tuner, but I myself only have HP Tuners, however when I try to load any saved bin with hp tuners I get "failed validation check", so say I load the BIN i got off the pcm it loads fine, but if I load the bin in tiny tuner and save it even without altering any data, automatically HP Tuners wont accept, aparently as soon as there is a checksum anything other than original HP Tuners won't take.

Did anyone figure a way around it, I edited the file but now I want to load it in hp tuners and flash my PCM.

Can you pull the original file off the pcm with Hp tuners?
Did you say you can load the BIN if it has not been opened in Tinytuner?

Exactly, basically I haven't tried loading the bin after modifying it with tunercat as it's my friends. this is what I have done:

-Read the bin off the PCM (previously modded with my hptuners)
    -Save bin to laptop
-Try opening BIN with HP Tuners it opens fine
-Try opening same bin with Tinytuner, it opens fine
-Either make a change or don't make a change just resave the same file with or without making any changes using tinytuner.
-Try opening the edited "saved by tinytuner" version of the same bin and get error "failed validation"

So in essence, as soon as tinytuner touches the BIN and saves any changes on it, it will not open in ANY hp tuners, I have old version 1.6 and new beta 2.23, it will not accept the tinytuner saved edition of the BIN.

What is the OSID of the PCM so we can try to find a stock bin from a DHP tuner. I do not know why it would do that but you could try posting on Tiny Tuner | Download Tiny Tuner software for free at SourceForge.net there is not much activity but if people start posting for help and changes the project might improve. There are cars people are adding to TinyTuner but have not released them yet.

OSID is: 12201830, I'll post on there as well thanks. Like I mentioned, I can download the BIN off the car and open the BIN with Hp tuners, but its as soon as I edit it with tiny tuner that hp tuners won't touch it

so, anyone know if this problem is strictly incidental?

has anyone else seen problems using the bin edited by tiny tuner? if so, what tuning program are you using in addition to TT?

    97 GT - slow, rusty
93 CTD - more slow, less rust

Just a checksum error. (just tried that osid myself).. TinyTuner has the right address for the checksum, but it isn't calculating it quite right. Ran it through PowrTuner or Eddie's other program (Binary Editor) and fixed the checksum.. Will PM him the info.

Was just IMing Eddie for a few.. Small DB error that affects TT making the checksum but apparently not the BinaryEditor. I am not used to using TT for editing. Spoiled by using the BinaryEditor for such a long time.

Anyway, corrected record is in new DB update to be put on Eddie's site.. Download the new DB and replace your old one. Open your bin, save it again. Should fix it one Eddie uploads the new DB file.. Dowload here

Can't get this to read any of the bin's that bill posted on bonnie pro, says the OSID's are unsupported.

The OSID's that bill has written in the file name are on the list however.

They also wont open in HPT.
