E85 Help

Hey guys, i am planning on switching over to E85 in the car this coming spring, and just have some questions. I will be running 65# injectors, does anyone have a 65#file for HPT? or how to get the orrect value? Also, any info on the tuning would be helpful, like how to start tuning for it, and what all needs to be changed? Thanks

65/42.5= 1.46 scale your injector table by that. I am pretty sure that is all you have to do.

Thanks for the help guys. I did get the injectors figured out and started on a tune. I had heard from somewhere that you can't use the factory metal tank because of electrolysis. Any ideas on that? I am searching for a plastic tank just in case. Other than that seems pretty straight forward tuning wise, just start adding more fuel and changing the filter a couple times.

the metal tank will work just fine. ethanol doesnt corrode the tank, it cleans it. its not corrosive in any way and anyone that says so does not know chemistry one bit. youll have to change your fuel filter a few times after you switch because there will be a lot of junk in it.

The math is different from powrtuner to hptuners but you want to use your 65# ifr table then add about 35-40% fuel to your ifr. So what you will be doing is lowering the ifr table for the bigger injectors and then raising the table values for E85. I started out at +37% and a couple maf tunes, i would recommend a wideband for wot tuning if you have it. If you don't, stay on the rich side of things.

Ok, i wasnt sure on the gas tank thing. Thanks for clearing it up. I do have a wideband in the car, so that should help the tuning process. What should i have for a AFR at WOT with E85?

and for the injectors, i took the 65/36= 1.81. multiplied that to my ifr table for the 65#. Now, for e85 take that table and X .30-.40 to add more fuel?
Am i correct in thinking this?

AFR works the same since its still reading lambda values. shoot for 11.4-11.6 without knocking.
