When is the last time you did plugs? And what are they gapped at?
Less than 6 months ago. I used autolite XP 104 iridium gapped at 55.
Thanks for the help everyone!!
I have decided to switch back to my normal gas set up once this tank of E85 is empty. Less to worry about.
There will be slightly used 60# injectors, a 3.0 and 3.2 pulley, an AEM ethanol fuel pump, and HP Tuners available in the next 2 weeks or so. :)
.055 is a pretty big gap for the mods in my eyes. A .045 would be better to prevent blow out.
If you do decide to go back to gas, I'd buy the 60s off you. I really do think you can make this work, though. Surging is what my car did when I had a microscopically cracked insulator on a spark plug.. I chased that problem down left right and sideways. Ended up being something stupid.
.055 gap on a 3.0 pulley could very well be blowing the spark out.
I had bad luck with iridium plugs. .055 is a big gap, you should try some copper tips gapped to .035 or even .040
Yeah, I would try knocking the gap down to .035 and see if there is a difference.
What gap would you run on 93 octane and a 3.4 pulley with iridium plugs?
.050 works fine for me, i also run copper core 104's. if your modded at all, run copper plugs.
Ok thanks.
It seems like I got better acceleration when I use iridium. I used copper and it didn't seem to accel as well, but I also had on the crap Zzp wires at that time.
try the 104's gaped to 50. they are cheap enough.
