at what point are you getting the error? while installing? or opening it?

I was just about to delete the post because I got the Powr Tuner software installed. I appreciate the help Scottydoggs!!!! Once The interface arrives I will be able to set up the software further. I'm sure that I will have more questions then and will gladly pay for your time. Thanks again
when the unit comes plug it in the laptop and your car, turn the key to on, then register the cable. set the speed to highest setting, and pick you comm port. might take a few port #'s.
after this step you can read and edit and write to your pcm. being a 04, id build a off board set up. much safer for the 04, 05 cars. and buy a spare pcm to have on hand, you just never know when your gonna brick yours.
if your gonna go for it via the cars obd2 port, make sure you pull the radio fuse first.
I was looking into the off board option. I seen one for sale on here for the 97-03 that I was thinking of picking up. I have not seen one for the 04-05. I looked for instructions online to build one but did not come up with anything I was comfortable following. I will pick up an extra PCM from Morads since I will probably go through the obdII port, They are 10 minutes away from me.
http://www.grandprixforums.net/threa...ness-99-and-04 this is the best one here so far. its cake if you can read pin #'s and match em up.
you can not have a power supply by running the off boards power leads to the battery with two alligator clips. leave the pcm in the car pull the blue plug and plug in your off boards blue plug.
they dont need to be oh so pretty either. mine are wired and taped up tight.
as basic as it gets.
you could get the plugs from morads as well. i solder and shrink tube all connections too.
Thanks, it is worth picking up the stuff to try. I will look for the stuff in the local yards. I must not be looking up the right keywords in the searches. :/
LOL. Yes the forum sites search does suck. I will use your suggestion from now on!!
