Regals are perfect winter cars. They meet all my winter criteria.
With proper tires they are good in snow
Comfortable for the those snowy commutes home
Drivetrain is pretty solid and there's few worries for someone with a couple of basic tools
Now.. on to some differences:
Options: Sunroof or not
DIC in cluster or not (some LS could have it)
HVAC was dual manual or dual automatic
Cupholder, broken or miracle (most are broken and can be fixed pretty easy)
GS was typically two tone, could be found in mono color.
Wheels, chrome (aka peel/leak), brushed (best IMO of stockers) and steel with hubcaps (not overly common)
Stereo, Monsoon (aka blown speakers), premium or basic. Most were the premium.
Rear seat, starting in 00 fold down 60/40 was an option
SLP package was super nice, but mostly show
Spoilers were a dealer installable option
Outer mirrors, heated was automatic, auto dimming was an option.
Heated seats (not one like a 97-03 gp, this is both or nothing, 99+ usually were wired for the seats below the carpet)
Options the Regals should have automatically have added:
HUD
Puddle lights
Turn signal mirrors
For the car it is.. those would have really set it apart.
