    we have changed the thermo and the radiator and it still is starting to overheat when the car is sitting still with the engine on. i said it sounds like the thermo but im not sure on what it could be? any answers?

    thermostat could be the wrong way or a cloged raditor/hose

    i was starting to think about the water pump but i didnt know if it would only overheat at stops if the water pump is bad. and how would i tell if the thermo is bad?

    an easy way to check if your thermo is bad is if the upper hose is still cold to the touch. also if your water pump is bad it should weap from the weap hole or make loud grinding noise



    EDIT: make sure your car is warmed up first before you check the upper hose

    one does but the other fan turns on then stops when it goes back down....idk whats wrong with it. could it be that fan?

    alright. so the damn fan still does not work. their were 2 fans idk why but it was not made for the car so I put the stock 1 one fan in and used all the same wiring and everything and it still didn't turn on. anyway I got tired of dealing with it so I decided to wire it to a switch and now the only time the fan will come on is when the car is off. I know its the cheap way of doing this but the car isn't worth anything to start with so I don't care. but any ideas how I can get this fan working when the car is on?
