the s10 with the 2200 will bolt any of their transmissions to a 3800.. Just need to make sure the flexplate spacing is correct.
The manual s10 would probably be a bit easier to do a swap in, and there are a few different 5speeds you can put behind it, some stronger than others.
Yup. The 3800 will be going into the sandrail. I will have a trans in the rail built to handle the horsepower. LS in the S-10
